100 bucks for a factory trailer wire harness ... Kiss my ***** lol 29.99 and an extra 5 mins of work ... Winning

Have you tested it yet? A lot of times those $100 factory ones are designed to handle the extra load of the trailer lights. On my van I went the cheap route too, and the blinkers would blink once or twice and that was it. Had to put LED's in the trailer to decrease the load ($10 per side from Princess Auto).

Is anybody planning on taking the Racer5 intro program this season? (Jer?, I'm looking your way lol) It would be nice to go with some people I know. I'm thinking in August at GB?

Yeah, a few pages back, check out this post:

Hey guys. Will any of you be going to GB on may 24, 25? I have two days booked with racer5.

A lot earlier than you are targeting though.

Sauder's Trailers by St. Jacobs (not the leather fix guy) installs them for like $55 or so, including the harness...

I went there 86.99 for the harness plus installation ... Muranos are sketchy cause if u probe the wrong wire ALL the airbags will pop lol I guess it's common knowledge and no one will hard wire it because if that. Me ... That's another story lol only on 02-05 I believe.

Thanks for the heads up.. don't think those parts are sympatico though. They're for a 650 - my bike's a 1000.

Hey Tim, I was working on my bike last night and it has no oil pan. The entire case appears to be two piece, bolted together from the sides. I'll look up the fiche for the sv1000 and see what it looks like (should have thought of that earlier...).

:( Looks the same as mine, split cases with no pan. SV1000S Crankcase

So, I guess we're euker'd then.... oh well... back to the original plan of the engine swap I guess.
If you still want to swing by on Sunday morning you're more than welcome to. Going to finish taking off gas tank, remove headers, repack exhaust (there's next to no packing in it right now - found that out when I was putting her up on the rear stand - nose in front of the exhaust exit and couldn't help but notice the inner pipe wasn't lined up correctly.. wiggled it, and it had tons of free play --- no packing it sight).

Yeah, back to plan A. Repacking, and getting it tight probably requires some shoulder strength. That would explain (partly) why it's so loud eh? haha... I can come up Sunday morning for some wrenching, sure. I won't bother bringing all my tools now though. Maybe I'll ride up.

Finally...
Got an appointment with my doc today to check out my knee...
There's a ton of fluid in there, and it jiggles like the proverbial jello (or Jer's belly, whichever you prefer, but I'd rather not have his belly on my knee).
Hope the doc will suck it all out and things will be good again. Gets really annoying when walking around or doing anything physical at all... actually gives a pretty strong burning sensation...

looks like the VD is spreading if your feeling it in your leg now.

Correction, you need to start looking for a new street bike! LOL :)

There are a couple of great fully prepped race bikes on CherryPicker right now, but they're probably a bit insane for a first track bike. Maybe go for that 2001 R6 that was posted here a few pages ago. Excellent track bike.
