Kitchener/Waterloo area, c u next trackday riders thread!

thats a brutal exuse Jer. You go out, you buy a bike (its your money), when she's standing beside it and gives you an ultimatum, just keep looking at the bike and ask her if she wants to rephrase the question.

If anyone gave me that ultimatum... I'd pick the bike ;)

Good on ya chicky... :p
All jazzed up for your course yet? Thinking about looking for a track bike already too?

Can't wait to hit Shannonville on the 18th... stupid crash.... stupid transmission.. stupid bodywork... stupid grass... stupid dumb-@ss rider... hehehe...

My wife gave me that ultimatum once ... I now have 2 bikes lmao ... Jer do u want me to talk to your girlfriend for you ? Or u can just borrow my balls for the weekend and do it yourself lol ???

Oh and yes I still have the same wife ?

Oh and yes I still have the same wife 

As I recall, you told her is was either a track bike or a $20K+ piece of property in the middle of nowhere to go hunting on.... *GRIN*

Jer's takin' an @ss-kicking on this one...
His girlfriend is a cutie... I'll give him that one... and a cop, so she could really make things miserable..
Besides, I'm sure he's simply biding his time waiting for the right moment to sneak out, grab one and bring it home all before she knows what happened... Right Jer? RIGHT?!?! ;)

Lol a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do. It's too easy to flame on an Internet forum , but jers got a good sense of humor ( I think lol)... Sometimes gotta think twice before hitting send ... Even the most half assed jokingly put statement will get broken down and ripped apart. Your having a convo with a hundred ( or more) random people ... The weak will be destroyed mwahahaha

Ps

Hey jer, just start off big... Then when u mention a piddly " few thousand bucks" for a track bike, your laughing all the way to the track.

Life lesson number 32.. From the book of Dan ... Your welcome.

Oh I can take the ball bustin. No worries there :)

I wear her down eventually :)

But The bigger issue is where to store it and the street bike. My money tree hast quite bloomed yet

Sent from my iPhone. (not while I was riding)

She's a cop, and likely sees lots of bike accidents. Surely she can relate to the fact that track riding is a lot safer than street. Just don't let her talk to Tim anymore! haha... ;)

Hey Tim, and everybody, check this out. 929 tranny work
I was looking for reviews on the Factory Pro shift kit and found this huge how-to. Near the end he drops the shift forks and drum! Can we do this on the SV?? I can't find anything after a few google searches but maybe it's doable. Certainly worth tearing the side cover and oil pan off to look. Tim, would you be able to get out of the engine deal after putting the deposit already?

good reference, nice pics and descriptions

I have no idea on if I could get out of the deal or not.. would have to find out if that will work soon or not though.
You know 3794% more about the SV than I know hands down... what he showed in that how-to is way over my head, as I've never done anything close to that before.

If you have any time this weekend to have a peek and experiment for a little bit, let me know... I'm away Friday and Saturday, but home all day Sunday and Monday as far as I know (offered Dan some company when he goes to get his track bike, but he may be getting it earlier - that's your cue to chime in here, Dan).

Let me know what you think!

I could probably find some time Sunday or Monday. It doesn't take very long to pull the clutch cover and get all that stuff out. I'll be doing it on my bike this week (I got a new clutch pack and different shift star) so I'll be all practiced up. I won't be taking my oil pan off though.

is it easier to take the motor out first? Guess it depends on the bike. I remember trying to get my clutch pack out, in the manual it says not to use an impact. After a day of trying to get the clutch nut unstaked (after a butcher of a nut staking from a dealership during a clutch recall), 2 seconds with an impact did the job. I can give you a hand with that if you need extra arms and decide to drop the motor or need an impact, just been super busy with work around the house at the moment.

It's easy on the SV, all wide open. I did it once before (Factory Pro shift star, which wasn't worth the money on the SV) and just stood on the rear brake and used a long bar to get the big nut loose.

Why did you take the inner clutch hub off to do the clutch pack? You were up to something else! ;)

after you take the cover off, its a single nut that holds the entire thing together. Clever design actually, quick to take apart and put back together.

Ahh, okay. New fangled supersports. I forgot I'm working with a 13 year old (at least) design. LOL

its like a $20 titanium nut or something insane. Worst part is the clutch springs I got with the EBC plate set were too short, they did a recall and changed the springs on the CBR after launch, but the EBC guys never changed their springs, they are too short, so I sit there trying to figure out why my new "20%" grippier clutch is slipping like a go-kart on a bannana peel, had to put the OE springs back in.

That's super annoying... I don't remember if I got springs with my kit. The box from Bike Bandit arrived yesterday and I didn't even have time to open it! Crazy.

Hey Dave...
When you can make it by, bring along your bar so we can loosen that nut - don't have anything near that length to get enough torque.
