Kitchener/Waterloo area, c u next trackday riders thread!

Hey Guys...
Shoulder's beginning to knit.. no nasty grind this morning - gives me hope!

So, finagling my schedule around - several of you have offered to help me out with an engine swap on the SV.
It looks like it's going to be Saturday, June 2, 1:30pm.

Ian from Tri-City has agreed to this day, and figures we can have the engines swapped that day without too much difficulty.

Can you guys please confirm that day and time works?
People who said they help are:
Dave
Dan
Randy
Ian - Confirmed.
Will pay with beer and steak for everyone who helps out.

I'll arrange to get the motor sometime around a week or so beforehand. Will have all fluids drained to the best of my ability, and hope to have the tank off too.

June 2nd should be okay for me.

Tim, don't even try to do that much crap on your bike alone. Take no risks with that shoulder. You know... when it starts feeling better it's so easy to do too much and hurt it again.

Glad you've confirmed Dave!
Don't worry, not doing much on my own as of yet except planning.
Got her body work off, tried a sander one handed, didn't work so well. Bought some graffiti remover, sprayed on. Let sit, power washed off.... so now most of the prettiness that was on her is gone.... oh well....

Right - yea, the 21st could work for Mosport. I'd like to try the long track though... Riders choice is running a track day on Aug.27 (monday), for $200 - anyone else interested?

I'm just checking the schedules for GB and TMP- as we've got some weeks to fill in June, July and August.
June 1 @ GB (Friday)
June 1 @ TMP (Friday)
June 7 @ TMP (Thurs)
July 5 @ TMP (Thus)
July 19 @ TMP (Thurs)
July 26 @ GB (Thurs)
Aug 2 @ TMP (Thurs)

I'd like to schedule something for early June, (as we're in shannonville in June 18 ) , and then something for early/mid July, and something early August - and then do Mosport long track on Aug 27. Then we'll be back at shannonville on Sept 10.
What's everyone think?

I'm in for may 21 st. I'm capable of towing a trailer ( rental if needed )

let you know closer to the date, I'll give you a hand when I can between now and then to get everything else done to make the swap easier

I'm sure we'll have a trailer available, theres a bunch floating around, saves you dealing with the U-haul people, I have a 5x8 w/ a 2" ball

Not me. Not doing Mosport big track on my SV again. It's too slow to be mixing it up with Superbikes. It's dangerous in Red and I'm not riding in Yellow because it's even more dangerous.

Do not take Mosport big track lightly, guys. It's a serious track. Dan, I wouldn't suggest going there in your first season of track riding.

Holy crap, you want to do May 21st and then still something between then and June 18th?

I'd like to do mosport this year, haven't decided on a date yet though

Hey guys... as you all know, I've been thinking about these little name plates etc... this is what I've come up with...
Lowrider - a cool looking font that looks fast and low...
Barf - Drippy. 'nuff said.
Kohlarbonez - ends of letters look kind of busted up
Doozer - chose yellow and black 'cause those are construction colours, and that's what doozers do. Chose the font "ChalkDuster" 'cause Dave simply dusts us all on the track.
Smergy - crazy-ish front. Only guy in our little group to do a bazillion upgrades to his streetbike... just for the track... ;-)

Tim, those are actually pretty nice... how do we get them printed up?

I've got a solution.... you should see if that 929 has legs.. ;)

I know it has legs, but I'm not taking it to the track. At the end of this season I want to at least have one functional bike. LOL

Lifted this from another thread, about Grand Bend Raceway:

On another note We will be pouring our curbing this Thurdsday - rather than regular style turtles they will be flush with the track and then rise up 2 inches in a straight line to the back (2ft wide) a 1/12 slope with the last 6 inches being rumble stripped. We have also added an extra 2 ft of width (flat) on the left side of the exits of the turns onto the older asphalt section ( the one by the pit washroom bldg and the one everbody says visually looks like you are exiting onto a sidewalk) just to give you a little more room for error. This curbing design adds a little width in the corners doesn't affect your ability to lean (no bumping knees of the turtle) and adds definition to the turns. If you hit the rumble strip backoff you've gone to tight.

Not a problem... there's a place on Frobisher that prints onto vinyl. Probably be $10 each set or so.

*EDIT*
Got an approximate quote for $65 for a piece that's 54" wide by 12" high. Should be able to fit everyone's name on there twice (1 for each side) easy.
That's simply printing on vinyl, leaving us to cut it out etc. Is anyone in?
Jer - I'll get the FPR set up shortly... ran out of time at lunch - sorry!
