June 2nd should be okay for me.
Tim, don't even try to do that much crap on your bike alone. Take no risks with that shoulder. You know... when it starts feeling better it's so easy to do too much and hurt it again.
Hey Guys...
Shoulder's beginning to knit.. no nasty grind this morning - gives me hope!
So, finagling my schedule around - several of you have offered to help me out with an engine swap on the SV.
It looks like it's going to be Saturday, June 2, 1:30pm.
Ian from Tri-City has agreed to this day, and figures we can have the engines swapped that day without too much difficulty.
Can you guys please confirm that day and time works?
People who said they help are:
Dave
Dan
Randy
Ian - Confirmed.
Will pay with beer and steak for everyone who helps out.
I'll arrange to get the motor sometime around a week or so beforehand. Will have all fluids drained to the best of my ability, and hope to have the tank off too.
I'm in for may 21 st. I'm capable of towing a trailer ( rental if needed )
Right - yea, the 21st could work for Mosport. I'd like to try the long track though... Riders choice is running a track day on Aug.27 (monday), for $200 - anyone else interested?
I'd like to schedule something for early June, (as we're in shannonville in June 18 ) , and then something for early/mid July, and something early August - and then do Mosport long track on Aug 27. Then we'll be back at shannonville on Sept 10.
What's everyone think?
SMP was great! Weather was damned near perfect.
Not me. Not doing Mosport big track on my SV again. It's too slow to be mixing it up with Superbikes. It's dangerous in Red and I'm not riding in Yellow because it's even more dangerous.
Hey guys... as you all know, I've been thinking about these little name plates etc... this is what I've come up with...
Lowrider - a cool looking font that looks fast and low...
Barf - Drippy. 'nuff said.
Kohlarbonez - ends of letters look kind of busted up
Doozer - chose yellow and black 'cause those are construction colours, and that's what doozers do. Chose the font "ChalkDuster" 'cause Dave simply dusts us all on the track.
Smergy - crazy-ish front. Only guy in our little group to do a bazillion upgrades to his streetbike... just for the track... ;-)
I've got a solution.... you should see if that 929 has legs..
On another note We will be pouring our curbing this Thurdsday - rather than regular style turtles they will be flush with the track and then rise up 2 inches in a straight line to the back (2ft wide) a 1/12 slope with the last 6 inches being rumble stripped. We have also added an extra 2 ft of width (flat) on the left side of the exits of the turns onto the older asphalt section ( the one by the pit washroom bldg and the one everbody says visually looks like you are exiting onto a sidewalk) just to give you a little more room for error. This curbing design adds a little width in the corners doesn't affect your ability to lean (no bumping knees of the turtle) and adds definition to the turns. If you hit the rumble strip backoff you've gone to tight.
Tim, those are actually pretty nice... how do we get them printed up?
Ok gonna need some help with this one. Mission ... Track bike for me ?? budget is around 2500 and I'd like at least a 600 preferably gsxr. Or of course a sv1000 is ideal lol. I'm
Leaning towards you Dave for your expertise in this one ? before may 21 would be great lol
