Kitchener/Waterloo area, c u next trackday riders thread!

So who else got a wicked sunburn? I completely didn't think of sun block since it was so cold, but I'm totally burnt.

I just took a quick look through a few of the videos I took and they turned out great, with lots of passing action. Randy, the camera stopped recording at 24 minutes (battery probably died) in the last session, right before our 4 or 5 lap battle :( Too bad... Got lots of other good action though. I'll go through it in more detail and make some YouTube versions on the rainy days this week. Did you wife get some good pictures?

most are too far away, my wife isn't very photogenic and its a pretty low budget digital camera. Tim was going to bring his DSLR, which would have rocked. What can you do.

The last sessions when I took the 675 out? That thing was a riot to ride, miss the pull of the 1000, but with so many corners, the light weight more than made up for it. My CBR feels really fat compared to that thing.

I even put sunscreen on, and still got burnt bad. Great weekend everyone, can't wait to see the footage, and get well soon Tim. Experience is a cruel teacher, but don't let it deter you.

She isn't very photogenic?? That's not very nice to say! haha

Yeah, I was really looking forward to seeing that footage too. Oh well. Next time I'll change the battery after 4 sessions just to be sure it doesn't die. Hearing you talk about that bike makes me want a new bike even worse... there's a 2006 R6 on CherryPickerRacing for $4700, race prepped with spare wheels... I just can't do it right now. Wife is off work and I have to buy an air conditioner and a fence!

Yeah, that was a lot of fun yesterday. I can easily see GBR becoming our "home track". Beats the living crap out of TMP if you ask me.

Yeah, you were definitely looking more comfortable than last year. So, SMP Nelson next Monday? ;)

definately, I learned a few things this weekend:

1.) Pirelli DRC's got a little spooky at the front when they cooled off, good compromise between grip and life. This is partially due to new geometry, but partially the tire. All in all, predicatble tire, but did not seem to give a large margin of error when leaned over deep.
2.) Pirelli DRC's rears became less predictable when reaching max wear limit at the rear, but were good until then
3.) 55 tires are way better than 50's, much tippier, more better grip, easier to ride
4.) Pirelli Supercorsa SC1's are mint, wicked grip, great feedback, but I don't think would last very long on a 150+ hp heavier street machine.

I love the Diablo Supercorsa tires. They are perfect for the SV at least. An SC2 (medium) on the rear might last longer. You should find some good, cheap scrubs and try them out. You might be surprised how long they last.

Great day at the track - and yes, my head is nicely burnt...
Tim - drag about your fall.. that happens. Hopefully they can get you fixed up fast.

Steve - you were rockin that sv yesterday... I guess the mixed gas must have helped!

you were clipping along out there, I couldn't touch your cornering speed, only the straights, great riding Dave!

video processing now... could have made turn... P*SS ME OFF...
can't tell you how much the offers of help and well wishing are appreciated.
Suzi's apparent damage is minor - without knowing about the gears...

looks to be fibre glass work, paint and shift lever..

done much fiberglass work? If not, I'll show ya, cheap and you become good at it after a few crashes :) Just be sure to get a proper ventalator/respirator, not those cheap 3M masks.

next time, just hold the clutch and ride it out, or gently use the rear brake once your off, grass was dry this weekend. At SMP its much harder if theres been rain, since theres no drainage, the grass can be super slick. Either way, lesson learned, did the same thing on turn 8 at SMP last year trying to avoid the concrete patch

Tim!!!! Opportunity to change that colour!

when they're prep'd let me know we can spray them in the booth if you have a cheap spray gun? The old man will lose his mind if I touch the expensive spray gun!

Thanks :) Wait until you see the videos. It's cool to see how you rocket away from me on the back straight and how I gain most of it back on the brakes :)

Are you putting it on your youtube channel for all of us to see? :)

I will. I've got a busy week, but hopefully I'll get a few hours to put at least one video together. Hopefully tonight, actually. I'll post the one where we got red flagged and restarted because it has a lot of passing action. For the restart Randy was right at the front and I was right at the back. I passed almost everybody within 3 laps. Super fun!
