Kitchener/Waterloo area, c u next trackday riders thread!

Ok guys need a miracle just busted my zipper in my jacket and I can't find anyone who'll touch a bike jacket .... Help

what is the jacket made out of? I'll assume a decent grade of leather? do you need it for the track? what day? you have a 2 piece?

Ya going to grand bend on Sunday ya it's a two piece.. I'll be there Sunday

on this short of notice, thats going to be tough. You can try looking up aden sauders, I just got a suit fixed there. I have kevlar thread if your in need of some, but i need to know soon. He can get through leather, assuming you have a zipper, hes 80 something years old, so I don't know if he does quick, but its worth a shot

this is his place, no phone, so just drive in, and knock on the door.

best bet is to try and borrow a suit. I have a spare leather jacket that is track quality, but would have no idea if it even has a zipper for pants or what pants it will zip to (I don't think it does, but I can have a look).

Well altered image in conestoga mall has it now ... They are bending over backwards to get it done so a premature thumbs up to them. The owner is actually going to take it home and sew it so I can have it for sat night ???I think a gift card or something is in order

Thanks dean I'm
Not sure what a 48 translates into
But I'm 6'3" and 230 lbs lol

Randy thanks for the help and the offer hopefully things will be done on time. Tim actually called me and told me about sauder and altered image so the mall was on the way so ...

You buy a new suit Dean?
Bring the suit along on Sunday anyways in case Dan's somehow falls through.
Agreed - Dan would fit that suit just fine. It would fit me too (tried on the same model at a store once)...

DAM* IT!!!! SON OF A &)&$)W^^**@!$ and other assorted curses here...

Started loading the SV on the truck...
All of a sudden, left clip on breaks off...
Bike was running.
Bike fell over and shut itself off in about 5 seconds, while I was trying to lift it up.
Upon closer inspection, the bolt holding the clip on closed came out - it was holding on by about 1.5 threads, which were still on the bolt.
Going to Crappy tire to get new ones for both sides in a few minutes.

Problem is , oil light is on. Bike won't start. Disconnected battery. No dice on startup when reconnected.

Thoughts???
Very limited fix time - as I'm going to referee from 12-2 and 6-10... CURSES!!!! Can't get out of either...

T.

p.s. can't tell you how glad I am it happened here and not on the track!!!!

Give me a call if you need a hand, I am going to go try to change the oil and fire up the SV later today. If it still runs looks like I am going to go tommorow I will leave here around 8:00 looks like it will not really be warm enough to get on the track much before 11:00.

Hey Tim I'm willing to help give me a call when ur free. Don't need to let u have any excuses when u lose to the new guy (that's me ) lol

Jacket is fixed ... A big thanks to altered image for making it happen ? Game on Tim ... Game on ... Better start writing that list of excuses now.

Hey guys...
Thanks for all the offers of help!
Steve figured it out in about 3 seconds flat -- the clutch in sensor for startups... clutch has to be in to start, even in neutral... hardwired together and voila... works awesome.
Jer came by too and gave Steve and I some serious shudders when he took his helmet off... some things you just never get used to,... hehehehe..

Oh, and Dan... no excuses needed to putt-putt around grandma... hehehehe...

Good work guys! Glad you got her fixed up. Did you get the handlebar bolts sorted out too?

Can someone bring booster cables tommorow mine seem to have left in the trunk of my former car. Tiny battery and carbed bike with cold oil = not such a great start from cold.

just got back from an epic day at GB. NOTE: This IS a SOAR race practice, so is tomorrow. Someone goofed up at the office letting regular people sign up without a race license. They will let you run, but be warned, everything is fair game, including passing in corners, in all groups. If you are not comfortable with deep corner passes, or you have never done a track day before, they will give you a refund, and save you the drive.

Today there were only 10 guys, the first 2 and last 2 hours were mostly 1 lonely CBR going around the track :) bit chilly in the morning, by 10 it was good.

if your coming tomorrow, bring warmers, it was really hard to keep heat in the tires today. I ran Pirelli DRC's which are street tires that worked fairly well in the cold. A couple ppl went out on slicks an tip toe'd, I left mine in the trunk, but most of the day was too cold for slicks. 1 stall and 1 guy ran out of track mixing up a corner without any significant damage.

Today was long track and modified, open track all day, tomorrow will be 2 different configurations. In total, 310 km today, lots of fun.
