Kijiji people are evil

Trying to pickup some used racing rig on kijiji and FBMP right now and damn people are holding their prices.

Good communications and respectful each time, we just can’t agree on a price. Which is the way it should be.

“I want and am willing to pay $X”
“sorry that’s too low”
“Ok too bad. Thanks for the prompt response.”

Banks don't have hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash on hand. You're not the only person who could drop in and ask for in excess of 10k in addition to many people who just cash their paycheck. There are rules for the branches to not have excess cash at anytime. You really think they don't want to give you cash just to piss you off? Another branch may have had excess cash on hand and it worked for them that you came in. No reason to get ****** at the teller and manager. They are short staffed as it is and many branches are closing on Saturdays because of this. I know I wouldn't be able to keep quiet when a random person comes in unannounced to get a large amount of cash and then gets upset because they don't have time to call in advance. But you have time to go on some random 3 hour Kijiji buy though, that's ridiculous.

I pride myself in being an awesome Kijiji seller and buyer. Too bad not all can do the same.

Nice, I think I’m around 5-8 with 5* rating. I’m not really enjoying how Kijiji has done their feedback system. But at least it’s better then nothing…

I can't figure out how to get people to leave Kijiji reviews. I did get a 5-star from the one person that did, though.

It seems like Kijiji only triggers the feedback linked email once you’ve had a ‘long enough’ conversation with someone.

As I recall it doesn’t even necessarily get flagged if the item is sold. So can you be leaving negative feedback for someone you didn’t even complete a deal with?

That’s why I much preferred doing my transactions on RFD. Feedback system is well established and you can’t leave feedback for an incomplete deal. So people having tantrums over you not budging on price or travelling to Sarnia to sell at asking don’t get to sabotage your rating.

I also can't wait until someone takes all those guns away from people using them for crime. Until then, the government is taking them away from law abiding citizens, leaving the criminals with all the guns they've always had (and will continue to get) through illegal means.
Common sense has become silly and stupidity becomes the norm.

Couple times this year I’ve driven 1.5-2hrs each way just to find the seller lied about condition/etc and it was a waste of time for me. Been on a 1hr limit each way rule since then but found a great deal couple weeks back I didn’t want to pass up. Originally seller said he would drive to meet me half way then backed out but with a decent excuse, he’s just started cancer treatment, drives an hour each way daily to the hospital, is in a feeding tube at home another 3hrs each day, so he didn’t have the time for the 3hrs round trip to meet me (he was 3hrs away). That’s a good excuse and the deal was good enough to chance it so off I went.
Here’s the annoying part: banks. I needed $15,000. Stopped at a Scotia on the way, said why I needed the cash, that I knew it was a lot without ordering it beforehand a week out like they ask for, but as close as they could give me to that is fine (I have a $10k etransfer limit but those higher amounts can often take an hour to go through and I didn’t want to wait another hour at the end of a 3hr drive). Bank starts lecturing me about needing a weeks notice in advance (of which I’ve already acknowledged) and that they’ll only give me $2,000. I say that’s unacceptable. Teller looks ****** and makes me wait while she asked a manager who then comes over and says the same lecture to me. I’m polite, but now annoyed amd make it known, but politely. They say they’ll scratch together what they can then say they need photo ID because it’s a large amount (fine, although they haven’t told me what amount they’ll give me I remind them). Then I have to sign a scrap piece of paper so they can verify my signature. After 28min of me staring at the clock they come out with $5000. That’s ridiculous.
While waiting I used google and found another Scotia about 10min down the road in the same city so I went there afterwards. I walked in, told the teller what I needed and what I just went through at the previous bank. She apologized for their behaviour, and handed me $10,000. In and out in 5min with what I needed. They were a joy. I go to the bank for $5000-$10,000 in cash at least 6 times every year last minute so I know they prefer a heads up in the request but I never have time for that and I’ve never been treated like the first bank that day treated me.
Anywho, made it to the guy. Items were as described and the guy was great to deal with. I know I could have gotten another $1,000 off the price but the guy was good to deal with and I didn’t need to be a kijiji prick on an item that was already more than fairly priced. I paid and we were both happy. Kijiji faith restored. Bank faith not so much.
Ditto but the trip to London was combined with a service call.

I was a bit leery as it had been painted. Wings had never been offered in emerald green but if I could get it cheap enough....

Yup, spray bombed and peeling, rust on all chrome, bald tires, bad brakes and seat upholstered with duct tape.

The ad picture didn't show the battery box side and the cover was missing. A colour matched one with pinstripes can go $400, more than the whole bike was worth.

If his young son wasn't with him I would have declined more rudely.

First mistake: Buying something from someone in London.

For whatever reason, bikes from people in London always turn out to be **** shows

When dealing with Kijiji people when you get to the point where they're saying OK, what's your address....... I ask for a cell number. If you don't give me a cell number I can call or text you on then you're not getting my address.

Second thing is price. There is often a back and forth on $$ and I tell buyers that if we agree on a price then that's it, don't use the lowered revised price as a starting point to begin negotiations all over again. Asking $500, settled on $450, buyer arrives and said he'd give me $375.............. "Are you saying you want to begin negotiations again". "Yes". "OK, new price is $600". "What! That's higher than your ad". "Do you want to pay the $450 you agreed to" "Yes".

The last thing is price, again, ............. If a buyer asks is the price is negotiable I say of course, but if you're thinking of coming by to offer me a low ball price then you're wasting your time and my time, so don't bother.

As an example, if I have something listed at $500 and get a message saying "Will you take $200?" I write back "too low to respond to" About half these people go away, the other half end up buying at a price I'm happy with, probable $425 or $450.

Above process seems to weed out majority of the idiots.

My favourite are the ones who clearly have all day to tell you why what you’re selling isn’t worth what you’re asking. “Cool, so don’t buy it.”

“You’ll never sell it, call me when you’re ready to come back to reality.”

Sold in next few hrs for asking.

“Sold now. Thank you”

“No way it sold for asking, you should have sold to me. I was negotiating.”

I’m never typically firm on a price and I’m certainly willing to negotiate if you’re the one trekking halfway across the GTA in rush hour vs transferring a small deposit. Otherwise don’t waste your time lowballing.

I’m thinking about it, I should be a bigger ******* and agree to the lowball then make these people meet me in the middle of klienburg and let them rot.

My 2nd favourites are the one who want to argue over $20. Show up and say “okay, we agreed on $160. I’ll give you $140” just get back in your car and go, I wouldn’t sell to you if you were the last person on earth now.

Does this mean you never left me feedback?

Oh, I have thought about doing this to some Kijidiots. I can ignore lowballers, but time wasters who ask for more pics and a million questions then lowball, they get me fuming.

You know you can just block them. They keep sending you questions that you never see, but they don't know they are blocked. I love that!! :p

Was selling a birdcage. Included dimensions, material, colour, age, brand, list of all the accessories, reason for selling, price + 4 pictures showing everything etc.

Some Einstein sends me a message.......... "Interested in birdcage, tell me all about it" I got back to her saying other than the detailed list and the pictures showing everything there wasn't much else to tell her............. She got back to me saying she didn't appreciate my tone and she'd be looking elsewhere. Good riddance.

Had one guy fake me out about 12 years ago was selling a navigation unit. I'm in Hamilton, he said he was far into Toronto, let's meet halfway at the West mall Etobicoke, I agree. Get home and he messaged saying it was missing the mini SD card. I agree to mail it to him - surprise, not far from the west mall.
Also have probably made 50 trips to Toronto area over the years for car parts, bike parts, etc. Seems almost every time I advertise something, someone from Toronto is interested but says too far like Hamilton is other side of the world. Lets meet halfway, discount the item for my gas etc etc. Annoying.

Kid had a meltdown over some silly toy so ended up finding a used version for 1/4 of the price.

Didn’t even bother negotiating as for $15 I’m taking 5 if he had them.

Hell guy even dropped it off near my office so I didn’t have to go see him even after I offered. Now that’s service.

Should have sent him a message saying the West Mall address must be fake and drive to Hamilton to pick it up. But you'll do him a favour and meet him in Aldershot.

I have a term for that. GTAcentric. The guys in my old Audi group use to meet once a month. The 416 guys would ***** about having to drive all the way out to Mavis + Steeles. Us guys from Burlington/Ancaster/Grimbsy would shrug our shoulders and start laughing at them.
