Apparently it's a numbers gimmick. This is the first time they didn't take pro-orders on the iPhone so everyone had to wait until the release date meaning all orders came in at the same time.

The technology is maturing and the market is saturating, it would be a genuine story for a phone to achieve (real) sales records any more.

Your hate for something as simple as a mobile phone is truly amusing. At the end of the day they all do the same ****. People have preferences is all. Why so bent out of shape over it? We know you hate apple. I hate kawasaki but do you see me posting about it over and over? That was cool maybe in high school

This. And the fact that the 5s was released in more countries than any previous iphone launch.

Facebook is slow (freezes but doesn't crash). Noticed the same on the call screen. Everything else seems to be normal. Battery life was bad the first day but it's been ok since. Expect an update in a week or 2 while the bugs not caught in testing.

Email has changed too, see all the emails instead of the latest x#
 
Anyone still on iOS 5? Call me paranoid but my 4S feels slower since iOS 7 came out. Weird.

After more than 4 tears the iphone 3gs support stops. My hat off to apple for keeping older phones up to date for so long.
 
I have a 4s and I'm still on ios5. Works like a charm :thumbup:

Ive had two. While they were ok they weren't anything that made me want another and personally I think the new ones are fugly. Just my opinion . The point was why rage on about a phone. Same thing. Everyone has their likes and dislikes.

They included "channel fill" in their totals, which means there are still millions of phones sitting in store shelves which is included in Apples 9 mil total.

I'll be honest, I don't know who's right and I don't think anyone else does either.

In the past, Apple has always quoted phones sold, not shipped. The link above insinuates that Apple has switched to a shipped metric.

At this point, the only info available is the press release which states the following and not much more.

"This is our best iPhone launch yet―more than nine million new iPhones sold―a new record for first weekend sales,"
 
To be honest, I use my workplace as an indicator for phone sales. Nobody in my workplace has placed an order for the iPhone. Most of everyone is on Samsung. Just 1-3 people are still on iPhone. APPLE is for sure rigging the numbers.

I ordered the 5C yesterday for my wife and absolutely no issue getting one as Telus has plenty of stock from what I understand. I'm on a 4S and there's really no purpose to upgrade just yet (13 months left on contract dammit!) but I'd probably stick with Apple. Only reason being I've tried Android and I don't really care about all the customization. I'm used to the iOS and that's it. As for iOS7 it's def better now than when I first tried it under a Developer account...it was horrible! Kept crashing and slow as hell...glad they got most of the bugs worked out.

Go to a store (Rogers) and just play with these three phones, HTC1, S4, Iphone 5s.

How would that help? Anytime I've done that, it has just reinforced my appreciation for iOS. I'm not saying its better, but its what I'm used to using. So "playing" with another OS isn't really going to help, because it will just be frustrating.

With that said, I will be switching to android after my contract is up. I lost my jailbreak about a month and I'm missing a few simple things I could do.
