I get a kick out of this **** being on a motorcycle forum. Anything I've ever been given infractions for is chicken **** compared to the slinging that happens in these awesome one sided political debates. The idiotic banter is amusing

It didn't matter in Indonesia... if a non-muslim wanted to marry a muslim, all they had to do was say those words.
By the way... that girl I nearly married -- despite being non-arabic and non-african, had her clitoral hood ceremonially sliced when she was an infant in some barbaric act passed off as a religious custom.
A lot of my distrust of Islam comes from years of living in it. I've been in cafe's that were attacked (okay... more like robbed) by 'religious police' who didn't like that people were eating during the day during ramadan... oh, and they also wanted their wallets.
edit... and the reason I spent years there: Indonesian people are great -- kind, always laughing, nice people. The country is also beautiful. It is the Muslim extremists that are destroying that place... from Saudi sponsored boarding schools for young boys near Surakarta to the countless Imans that instruct these nice people to mutilate their daughters and form religious police gangs to intimidate non-muslims.

I am not a lawyer, and therefore I do not know what "countenancing" means.
Personally, I'd rather that politics and religion and related matters be off limits, even in this "off topic" forum section ... but then people would yell censorship. Can't win. Not my circus, not my monkeys.

There are a couple of sources saying that there the extremists make up approximately 20% of the Muslim population. That makes for a number around 300 Million. Yikes!

The reason that Kopp is only "believed to have shot some abortion doctors" up here is because he has not been extradited to Canada to stand trial.
The reason Kopp has not been extradited to Canada for trial is because the Americans have already convicted him and sentenced him to 25 years to life for the shooting murder of another doctor in Amherst New York. Kopps was a member of the Lambs for Christ, a group of Roman Catholic committed to terrorist attacks against clinics.
This nutbar is no different than the Muslim nutbars. Religion has been perverted to justify all manner of atrocity throughout the ages.
The KKK used the Bible to justify segregation and attacks on blacks, Catholics and Jews. They still hold the same beliefs today. If you were to judge Christianity by the acts and words of the KKK, you would have to deem Christianity to be a violent and hateful religion.
