It's more like someone drives you home drunk. You pass out. When you wake up in the morning and realize that they were drunk, do you call it in? Or even better, you just got caught violating the traffic laws. Do you just pay your ticket or fight it?

Definitely. But we're missing the entire context. But in either case it's over at that point, and your done with the person. You could even think that your walking out and avoiding the person would make it know to them, that there behaviour was inappropriate. The other issue, is how do you actually prove that it happened? It's kind of like whistle blowing with very little evidence. I had a colleague at one job, go through it, and it was a major hassle for her. It wasn't really the person that she accused, she had him dead to rights, and there wasn't much he could say or do about that. But all of the people at the workplace that liked him made it very uncomfortable for her. She became an "untouchable", they couldn't get rid of her, but they didn't have to make her life or job pleasant.
Since nobody wants to tackle the white elephant in the room I'm just going to run with it. None of the "victims" seem to have made any attempt to hire a hitman. I believe that shows a serious lack of resolve and conviction. Now they want the justice system to do their dirty work. On my dime. Great, now I'm a victim of these "ladies".

So this reminds me of a story. When I was 12 years old I spent the summer in Southern Italy (I wasn't born here) and my aunt had a small grocery store which was walking distance to the beach. So every day after the beach I would go to my aunt's store and sometimes help behind the counter. One day we were at the store and this man comes in and I noticed this man was missing part of his hand. Being young and naive I stared. My aunt caught me and pinched me to stop staring.
Once the man with part of his hand missing left the store, my aunt explained what happened. Apparently he was married, and he used to physically assualt his wife. Well one day his father in law (his wifes dad) stopped by and noticed that his daughter had obvious signs of a beating. So the wifes father finds his son in law and confronts him and asks, "which hand did you use to strike my daughter". And the man put up his hand. And the wifes dad shot it.
That is justice. No need for the victim to be put through the wringer while being cross examined. No need for an investigation, no need for coddling the accused by the court system while they walk all over the rights of the victim. It was dealt with, immediately
Oh and guess what, the man with part of his hand missing, never struck his wife again. Oh and look at that....the accused was re-habilitated all with one shot to the hand.
I still think our justice system blows.

If the police investigation leads to charges, this goes to court. Unless Jian takes a plea. (him being the arrogant SOB that his is I think this will be unlikely). SO there is a prelim hearing. ANd if it the judge decides that there is enough evidence to go to trial, then this matter gets committed to trial. But Jian doesn't have to prove sh*t. The onus is on the crown ergo the witness to prove BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT that he is guilty. So if there is the slightest doubt, he acquitted or discharged or whatever they do. Keep in mind that the standard of proof must be VERY HIGH to PROVE BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT.
My thoughts, I can't believe that 9 women are lying. I can't believe willing to put themeselves through this for fame or glory or revenge. However, I do think this case if it gets committed to trail will be difficult to prove, for several reasons that have been mentioned countless times in this thread.
My point is, even if Jian gets aquitted by the courts, it doesn't mean it didn't happen or that he's not guilty.

Actually Jian showed his CBC bosses on thursday graphic video of the abuse. What he was trying to prove was that it was consensual and could cause bruising. Apparently his bosses at CBC were shocked. They're not firing him because of allegations, they saw video.
And yes, an employr does have thr right to fire an employee for conduct that would look bad on the company. A few years ago two RIM exctutives were drunk and beligerent on a flight that the flight had to be re-routed and landed. They were fired.
And lets look at celebrities who get dropped from endorement deals for personal life behaviour. Michael Vick, Chris Brown, Tiger woods, Ray Rice. They represent a brand, and there is no way a brand wants to be associated with behaviour that may tarnish their brand. Jian was Q...he was basically representing the brand. Same thing and so he was fired.
Not all women read this book. I read a few excerpts of the book that I saw online and the writing was so horrible that I never bothered to read anymore on it.
I think you're right they did go willingly. What they did not expect is to be choked, slapped, donkey punched or forced to gag on his d*ck. Big difference.
