Generation Jobless

"I think you have patted yourself on the back enough already" QUOTE OpenGambit Now I know why you said that to me about giving to charities. Takes one to know one.

Maybe you can go start a thread about your 35 dollar donation. Oops.

Thats the funny part. The whole thread was about soiled ratty T shirts. Can't stay on point? oOps.

Sounds like you are still butthurt. Too bad responding to someone is completely different.

Clear enough to me that IIWII is part of the permanently ungrateful group.

Unfortunately most people are. I employ 25 people are all great but it took a lot of firing and searching to weed out the people who kept wanting more and more no matter what I did for them or paid them and didn't care about the company or the other employees.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here. It's a balance. As a small business owner, damn straight I want to make more money than my employees for all the obvious reasons but I won't buy into the philosophy that I need to rape the workers. They have an investment of time and energy as well. I don't pay them out of my pocket (as some of my business friends seem to feel) but spread money from customers all around the business, including wages, as I see fit. I don't see my employees as a business expense I need to reduce to the minimum. The idea that I'll pay minimum I can get away with and if you don't like it, go somewhere else is not the work enviroment I want to be in on a daily basis. Granted some employees are never happy no matter what you do for them.

here here [applause]

.... - OpenGambit - you play into every single stereotype I have of a capital markets lawyer.
.......

go easy on "capital markets lawyers."

This is the intraweb fellas - speaking as a Nobel prize winning astronaut myself.

THIS,
I can never understand employees that are sour the company owners have great cars, cottages, nice houses, and vacations. It's their gamble that built the shop Joe Bitterboy works in.

People that think Canadian companies dont pay LOTS of taxes have no clue. And yeah, they hire tax lawyers and CA's to help avoid taxes, same as Joe Bitter has an RRSP and TFSA. Thats how capitalism in a democratic society works. The argument, I dont have enough takehome pay to take advantage of RRSP's ect. is weak. Love the guys at the bar holding a smoke complaining about work wages.

We are in the era of Big Business and Big Money pushed into the economy by the Central Banks. There is a middleman to the process of this money getting into the hands of spenders, the ahole business man or the middlemanager trying to push down costs to get his/her acheivement bonuses. For economy to function requires spending, stripping individuals from having this money appears to be the game employers are playing and its a game they are ultimately going to lose. The US goverment will not stop until their economy's GDP is growing again, for that to happen incomes will have to rise and they will rise. As this is happening and unemployment is reduced in the US, Canada's unemployment will continue to fall as well. This will be mostly because Auto production and parts will be at capacity in ontario again and the money for leasing will be easily had once again. Generation Jobless thread is somewhat moot as the amount of Baby Boomers that will be retiring and demand for employees will be amplified. As this happens the Ahole conservative will open the flood gates to foreign workers and these Ahole businesses will be licking their chops over the flood of low cost labour the conservatives will be handing the ahole employers. What is more accurate is generation displacement. Canada's employers favours foreign workers over Canadians. Incomes in Canadians will be repressed and continue to stagnate or fall because of Canada's political ineptness on how to create and run an economy all the while American incomes will rise and they return to their former spending ways. For Canada to be in this state of affairs is inexcusable and clearly shows Canada's lack of regard in creating a prosperous Canada but an economy built to serve select groups.

Mom and pop operations don't count. For you to matter you are A: A privately held international company with multiple locations around the world promoting your finished product B: You are a publicly listed company beyond penny stock statuse with a market cap in the millions.

What's your company stock symbol? I am sure you don't fit into either of these camps, thus you are small fry. My guess you are a successful sub contractor to a publicly listed company and you cry everytime one of your key people jumps to work for the hand that feeds you. I am not going to begrudge your success, good for you.

Must be an easy life when all your failures can be blamed on just about anything other than yourself.

Read previous posts before posting please. I employ 25 people, and we are across Canada, revenue was 22 million last year, I mention this because there are many publicly traded companies that don't have my revenue or employee count. Listing doesn't mean size or success,. I don't sub contract for anyone. if you doubt me, shoot me a PM and you can visit my office in Toronto..Your silliness and lack of knowledge is now more clearly jealousy of people who own or run companies. If I'm small fry then you don't exist.

I'm part of this generation right now but I can't really relate. My friends and I are all employed in our respective fields and I would say most of us are well payed. I guess I've been hanging with the right crowd?

To add to that - Its way better to be private any day. The costs of being listed are massive.
