Flip plate

I think the 'at all times' is where they get you. If its on a hinge it is not affixed so that the numbers are visible 'at all times'.

Bingo! It's one of those "do you want fries with that?" kind of tickets, when they already have you pulled over.

That means it must be visible at all times. The cops might as well seize your bike cause it "can" go 50 over and you have the ability. You first have to do it...

Pointless to have a flip plate here anyway... OPP has planes and helicopters if you try to run, and there are not really any tunnels you can disappear in.

If you want to run red light cameras :)confused: no idea why you'd want to) and get on the 407 for free, then mount your plate angled more to the ground or reach back and cover it with your hand as you ride through...

It's not a flip plate. It's an "adjustable plate mount". trolololol

I have the exact same one on my bike and like someone else already mentioned its on hinges because its right above the fender. When the shock compresses it can hit the fender, so thats why it has that roller ball there.

And if you can ride a bike while holding that plate back with one hand id like to see that lol

Your analogy makes no sense and is way off context.

Its' up to you to figure out if you have a need to hide your license plate.

I would get it if it were electronic..flip up/down with the push of a button *cough*407*cough*

no need for that. the competition werkes kit puts your plate in such a spot that the camera cannot pick it up due to the angle.
tried tested and true by me several hundred times :D

My bike came equipped with this when I bought it. Interesting I never thought of it as being illegal I just thought it's purpose was to provide a mount location after removing the fender. I guess I was lucky when I got pulled over for an expired validation tag and the officer never mentioned anything about the plate mount.

Sorry, i am not accustomed to seeing illegal stuff being openly sold on Kijiji. I was thinking it might be a trap....Ah well.

Pretty much every aftermarket exhaust is illegal since they are for "off road use only"

I've got one of these and had one on my last bike too. Never been hassled about it even while passing cops on the street. The tag light on it is actually really bright (much brighter than my old oems) and the plate is fully visible at all times except maybe to toll cameras.

Like others here have said, it's not meant to hide the plate. It's meant to protect your plate from hitting the rear fender/tire. The hinge is spring loaded and will not stay in the UP position on it's own.

Incorrect.

lol

lemme guess, you or someone you know got a ticket for this, therefore it is the law eh?

plenty of border line retarded cops out there who themselves don't understand the law.

Also incorrect. The wording of the law is fairly clear. If the plate is mounted on a hinge it is not mounted such that the plate is legible at all times.
