Fak her right in Pus**: feminists need to suck the big one!

Let me restate this so it won't be lost/edited:

It is idiotic to compare the the man called out for his boorish behaviour towards the TV reporter to Martin Luther King.

I think if City TV wants to sue him, its up to them. But Hydro should not get involved and fire him.

Lets not mix personal life with work life.

Like Rob Ford?

seriously though, there is a behaviour clause in most employment contracts with big companies.

Why does everyone seem to think people only do this to female reporters??????

You're entitled to your opinion. Apparently, this dude is not entitled to his though. The content or the validity of the opinion is not what I'm arguing here. I don't think that joke was funny either.

He is still allowed to have an opinion. No one is infringing on his rights to free speech.

His choice to share his opinion has made it clear to his employer that his attitude is not a good fit within the company. I'm sure there are women he works with who would think his presence makes a toxic work environment.

He is still free to have his opinions just as we and his employer are welcome to think he's a DBag.

Rob Ford was a mayor who supposedly represents all of us in Toronto. This guy is not an elected individual. Hes some idiot kid who caused no harm to anyone.

Not defending his behaviour just saying firing him for something like this is insane. The punishment does not fit the crime IMO

Unfortunately if he somehow gets connected to the company, and now he has, it reflects on the company. I probably have something in my contract that says similar.

Clearly he's a despicable human being. I'd love to be around him and his loved ones right now, making all the right cooing sounds in support of course, while secretly enjoying watching him writhing in agony. Many bad and uncomfortable things will happen to him in the immediate future and hopefully beyond. I'd like to be there for the good stuff now tho. And then maybe check back in, as friends are wont to do, every year to see if he's still hurtin. If he were'nt so greasy looking maybe he could be a country singer. Be well.

despicable human being? That's a bit much IMO. Bad judgement? Sure, cause he laughed about the guy making a rude comment and then went on to make a fool of himself. He could have just laughed and walked away.

OK, I would like to publicly apologize. LOL

Hey no sweat. Cut and thrust of foruming amirite?

His poor judgement was in making the wrong choice between saying "no comment" and going off on a rail the other way.

I can relate to this guy because in a former life, especially when drunk, I might well have risen to the occasion in a similar fashion(Elizabeth May?). I get that some people never would, so your black and white right is right view is understandable. If I pulled this stunt I would expect a severe dressing down, not the least from myself next morning, if caught. And rightfully so. But the public shaming campaign and firing? Maybe too much imho.

That was sarcasm. I think I will that back in my bag of tricks for another time. Did not go so well today.

Actually I think he's just a piece of ****. I've worked with engineers with poor social skills before...they're never as stupid as he was.

"Hydro One is likely justified in their decision to fire Simoes, lawyers said.

Traditionally, a company's code of conduct would not cover off-duty actions, Carman Overholt said (an employment lawyer and founder of Overholt Law Barristers & Solicitors).

"That said, there are certain kinds of extremely offensive and shocking off-duty conduct that may make the continuation of the employment relationship impossible."

Workers can be fired for behaviour outside work if it damages the reputation of their employer, he said"

Ya I think so much less of Hydro One now lol. This hysteria over the reputation of a very large company over the misguided actions of one employee off duty is just.....weird. Did Dofasco suffer anything because they had a rapist and a murderer in the ranks? Just wow.

The only reason people even know that the dude works for Hydro One is cause the social media lynch mob decided that they were going to crucify the guy and put in a lot of effort to find out who he is and where he works. Watch every word you say 24/7 guys, maybe you're getting the noose next.

Just don't act like a doooshbag and you'll be okay.

Why is this even news? Must be a slow day
