Cause the reporter made it more of an issue.
I agree. I think she purposely dragged them (more) into it. When you watch the video, its clear she is trying to get more out of themCause the reporter made it more of an issue.
The only reason people even know that the dude works for Hydro One is cause the social media lynch mob decided that they were going to crucify the guy and put in a lot of effort to find out who he is and where he works. Watch every word you say 24/7 guys, maybe you're getting the noose next.

I say/post incredibly stupid, offensive **** when I'm gaming and on gaming forums. I also use a different alias than the one I use for software development for that reason. I'm also under a different alias here so an employee doesn't Google me and find that I enjoy scaring the **** out of left lane hoggers by blowing past them in 2nd gear.
Common sense isn't that hard. You're telling me you'd be stupid enough to yell FHRITP in front of a TV crew? That's as stupid as me showing up to work on my GSXR, doing a burnout, and expecting not to be asked about it.
So, you're not different than the guy, but you just hide it really (kinda )well?

What if the reporter was your sister, wife, or significant other?
I don't treat women like that. If someone said that to any of my close friends, mother, or sister (if I had one), they'd have a broken jaw once they're off screen.
If you're going to act like a ****ing idiot with video footage being aired...

Not sure how the guy got outed as a Hydro employee yet. Maybe I missed it.
Heard they are terminating based on code of conduct.
Well folks, I know it's a good paying job and all. The guy was on TV and obviously drunk and made offensive remarks.
Does that justify termination? I'm not sure.
I don't like how everyone likes to point fingers and demand folks get fired for stuff. It's easy to express outrage and complain.
I didn't find the guy funny. If I was female and the reporter, I would be offended.
If the guy expressed publicly, he is a Hydro employee and spoke that way, I can see Hydro terminating as being associated with such poor behaviour.
Otherwise, it's a matter for the courts really. The reporter can sue for harassment or police charge him for what ever that kind of behaviour falls under.
Really wish the false outrage rhetoric would take a back seat to such meaningless issues.
The reporter isn't in on the joke so, it's not funny and the reporter has the right to be upset. The guy deserves his due process.
Getting canned is a little over board imo but, then again I did all my crazy stuff off camera and before everyone had cell phones and the Internet etc.
Give him some community service or make him pay a fine but to fire him is just an over reaction.
