F1 Thread!!!

Forget the bodywork, It's causing the whole electrical system to overheat potentially causing the whole car to go up in smoke.

With that many battery packs replacing fuel no wonder. I wonder how many battery packs do they get per season? I bet there's no limit on that, is there?

32lbs of battery junk which is 32lbs of statis weight and very hot at that they have to deal with for the duration of the whole race (compared to burning off fuel gradually). Here we come battery series .... LOL

IMHO, Williams wins the 2014 best livery of the year.

Stunning! Even the drivers outfits and hats.

Williams will have A Senna logo on the nose/wing for 2014.

Yup yup. did I mention how pretty the Williams livery is? Simply classic. :)

Massa's hat... WANT!

I know this is just a TLDR version of the changes, but the new limit on the engines per season is more complicated than just going from 8 to 5. The powertrain is broken down into components, and you are limited to 5 of any one component.... ish. I'm not awake yet.

Also of note is how the blown diffuser is banned - the cars are required to have one tailpipe, and it is a high exit. Combined with the changes to the rear wing, it will be very difficult to make the exhaust exert an influence on the rear aero. So now Red Bull's championship winning advantage is gone.

Apply cold water to BURN.

Thanks for coming out though.

Nice, only team with Canadian ties takes the early command. And only one month after I get my BlackBerry! Guess I know who I'm cheering for.

Looked at a bit of the practice last night and very disappointed in not only the look, but one of the most important aspects of F1 on TV or live; The sound is just awful. Nothing beats the sound of a V8, 10 or 12 at 18 000 rpm. These things sound like a blender. The 1.5 Turbos sounded way better. Even Bernie hates them.

I still miss the old cosworth sound from the 70 and 80's. But yeah the current cars sound like arse.
