Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Bought one of these some years back for about $80 at princess auto. It's paid for itself many, many times over. This guys review was the only reason I jumped on the sale...

Pretty sure I’ve seen something similar that attaches to a normal drill….I think my small one may have that feature I’ll have to check.

EDIT: yes…yes it does…

I have the much more poverty version of that. @sburns can borrow it if he wants but it's a long drive, I'd probably just buy one to have around.

Mine's similar to this but 15 years old so slightly different. No pistol grip on mine (which I don't think really matters)

Mine looks like this but with a shaft for a drill as well. As a professional, it would be too slow stopping, pulling cable, resetting screw, etc but for an occasional home issue, it's fine.

@sburns I'll be in Scarborough on Friday if you want to use my smaller one (like the one in the pic) as I currently have no use for it and hopefully won't need it until next week.

Let me know and I'll toss it in the car for Friday.

What a disaster.

I go to HD to rent the auger.
Get home immediately try it in the drain.
It get it feed into the drain for a few feet and decide to pull it back out. Nope it continues to feed. Check if I had a setting wrong, nope. Try again. The whole snake coil comes out of the auger. WTF.
Race back to HD. Guy tells me that happens sometimes. Ok
Put's it back together.
Back home try again. Same dam thing. Any resistance on the coil it just contiunes to go out not back in.

F'n nonsense.
Will go back to HD tomorrow, that's going to be a fun conversation, I shouldn't have to pay for this nonsense.

@jc100 business up and running?

@mimico_polak I will message you.

Well at least you didn't get a poop shower in your house...that's a bonus!

Ya…you need full strength boom or slight pop?

Ok returned the HD rental. Guy at desk was all defensive on how the tool worked, but I told him plainly it didn't retract or work properly.
Called manager over, cleared the charged. Done.
Whew.

One kid complained that the light didn't work in their room. Hmmm. Breaker blown. Very strange. Very minimal loads in that room. Reset, instant trip. Back to room to investigate. Oh kids. Glass of water had tipped over and completely filled an extension cord/usb hub beside their nightstand. Not sure if it was overcurrent or AFCI that tripped when that happened. Oh well, easy fix. Drained out about a cup of water and left it disconnected.

I found out why one section of my walk way was lifting. At about 6" inches across this was a major root. Hope cutting through it doesn't kill the tree. Any suggestion as to whether the cut end needs to be sealed in some fashion before it's covered with more concrete?

Tried my hand at scratch coat today and didn’t come out all that bad in all honesty. Not bad for a first time.

Started on the front wall and those damn corners are yet again 1/8-1/4” off…I can see it and I’ll take off the short panels as it’s only a 5-10min job to try and line them up…

Turns out the top trim above the garage door is level…but the left to right side is 1” off so that took some good measuring.

Green laser for the win!
