Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

I need a glue that expands and foams up to take up space. I remember the old PL used to do that, but as newer versions of it came out, each promised less foaming. What kind of glue that comes in a cartridge expands the most?
How much space. Some Gorilla glue foams but others not. I think there are three colors.

What's the application? Is it possible backer rod and caulking could work?

Various things. For example, a door frame with about a 1/4" - 1/2" gap up top. It would take too much caulk to fill and not be worth using a spray foam can as they are pretty much single use.

Lots of home renovations are mentally funded by skyrocketing paper valuations. People rationalize that laminatevwas fine when their house was 200k but now that it is 1M it needs granite. Also, covid renovations where people poured money normally used on vacation into their houses got many people ahead of where they would normally be on the project list. Everyone says the sky is falling and your house price has dropped by 100k and suddenly adding/replacing granite doesnt seem like the best plan anymore.
Cottages used to have painted plywood floors, an outhouse and Sally Ann furniture. Now they're spas because who wants a million dollar cottage that looks like a Sally Ann dumpster?

Kept digging, and I found the reason for the damage to my wall...

Kevin had a deck at the front of the house.

And it looks like the 'damaged' brick has been around since 2009...

EDIT: Maybe the City came by and told him to take it down...as I'm sure he didn't have a permit.
I have a small amount of brick deterioration at the lower edges of the garage door so I'm guessing salt. If Kevin salted the deck, then shoveled the slop against the wall it could have done the dastardly deed. I've got a few matching bricks for my next summers project.

Not looking forward to Peels decision either…
I'm wondering about how Toronto's money will be spent. The police budget gets a big boost.

That may or may not be good.

It's good if it fights crime, fraud and violence.

It's bad if all the new recruits get put into traffic to generate income.

The budget will state how much the city gives TPS but does it give an amount back that the city expects in fines?

?

That’s what I think Kevin did. Who knows.

I’ll figure something out.

That sounds like the kind of job where backer rod and caulking could work.

The base layer. It's a P Eng kind of word....
Think I’ll just not renew my PENG then…

More curious what it is in the context that @nobbie48 used.

Knock out the brick? It’s structural and not a brick facade only. Removing it seems rather excessive.

But wtf do I know.

He just means, I think, pull off the outer layer and see what problems lie beneath.

They already explained it's use. Mental health first responders, a few more cops, majority goes to pay raises.

Have been pondering (and sketching) a revamp of my faithful garden shed. Jacking it up about four feet could provide a nice loft area for tires and what not.

I drew up plans for a similar shed a few years ago. Less than 110 sq ft so no building permit. Second floor was larger than first (like a mushroom) to maximize loft space. Access to loft was an external removable ladder and exterior double door so no inside space wasted to access hole.

Mines 10x12 existing. Not sure if I need a permit. Pretty sure I'd skip it either way though...

Etobicoke has a height restriction. I would love a light house but nope. IIRC the limit is around 3 M./ 10 ft.
My old suburb had a height limit. On single pitch roof, it was to the peak. On a gambrel roof, it was to the break. I think with maximum footprint and gambrel you could end up with a 15' tall shed with no permit.
