Anand says there's tons of vaccine available. When can I get my shot?
I know someone who's been hired to do the admin at the one of the places below where they'll give shots.
She has only training hours so far. Everything looks ready to go as soon as they get supply.

Here's what I got from Ottawa on the 29th:
"
City of Ottawa

All residents 70 and over can now book to receive a COVID-19 vaccination

Ottawa – Starting today, all Ottawa residents age 70 and over (born in or before 1951) can begin booking appointments to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
Residents age 70 and over citywide
Visit Ontario.ca/bookvaccine to access the provincial booking system or call the provincial vaccine booking line at 1-833-943-3900 between 8 am and 8 pm, seven days a week. Only book or call if you are eligible.
Appointments will be available at four community vaccination clinics:
  • Nepean Sportsplex
  • Ruddy Family YMCA-YWCA
  • Eva James Memorial Community Centre
  • City Hall (opens

To enable physical distancing and to reduce the number of people in the clinic, please arrive for your vaccine no more than 10 minutes before your appointment time."

Toronto has lots of shots and appointment spots but not enough arms apparently. Vaughan closed three of their clinics due to no shots. Ottawa, not enough shots apparently. It's an interesting problem, I'm not sure of the best solution. It would be easy enough to claw back from Toronto to supply places that want it but Toronto/Peel is the epicenter with high density living. It probably makes more sense to keep expanding eligibility in Toronto to get more of the high infection rate population vaccinated and try to get to the end of this mess.

Not starting the next crap fight , but cancel the break?? the union would melt down.

I feel for teachers trying to figure out how to wade through this , I really feel for parents trying to work from home and stay productive (ie: get paid) and the ones that have to go into a work place, figuring out what to do with kids.

They were supposed to double the pharmacies and expand the regions of the 60-65 AstraZeneca shots 2 weeks ago. Nothing but crickets since.

They ran out of vaccine here in Kingston.

France just shut the schools for 3 weeks. They finally decided that’s where a lot of cases were.

I suspect we will be going into another lockdown soon. They already hinted at it for April at the beginning of the year, and there are other sign's pointing it will happen. Glad riding season is beginning though, will help greatly with the lockdown.

Also agree that all levels of our Gov have failed the public, this should be remembered when voting happens and they all should be ejected, bunch a cronies. If they keep suggesting at a "reset" it should be in our Gov.

Some Barrie schools are telling the kids to take everything home tomorrow. If Douggie pulls the plug tomorrow instead of next week (extended March break is reasonably expected), he can eat *&^*^ as far as I'm concerned. People need a little notice to plan for this crap.

Yeah my mom works in an elementary school and their principal has told them to be prepared for online learning on Tuesday.

Hopefully they don't pull this B's sick of the surprise announcement on this stuff coupled with the we are locking down in a week so go crowd the stores. Lucky we are a one income family so my wife has been home anyway and not trying to work.

Sent from my Chesterfield using my thumbs

I'm not sure how any rational person didn't come to that conclusion long ago. Kids get Covid. Kids play in close contact with other kids. Kids in classrooms with a bunch of other kids in the same classroom are the textbook definition of everything the rest of us have been told to avoid since this all began. And those kids come home to their parents and spread it to them. Who then spread it to their coworkers...etc etc.

I'm not sure how this is an epiphany to anyone in government.

The only factor is if they make it effective BEFORE the long weekend, or after.

BEFORE would be the right move. Well, last night...or a week ago would have been the right move, but anyhow.

MONDAY will be the copout.

Stay! No.Go. On second thought stay. Mmmm no best you go now. What the eff!

If they just followed the science and stopped trying to make everyone happy.(You can't)

It was the unspoken thing. Children were off limits. If you throw a handful of glitter into the air it doesn’t magically avoid children.

I agree all levels have failed us . No doubt another BS lockdown of healthy people coming tomorrow . My school board already told all the kids to take their stuff home from school tomorrow . So the schools are going in to online learning .

But who will you vote for ? Delduca in Ontario a left over from the last Liberal government . O'Toole a guy that really has not different policy from JT ?

A health care story that is obviously not directly Douggie's fault but crap flows from the top.

One of my wifes co-workers fathers had some health issues. Over the past two weeks, they evolved quickly and now they have a diagnosis. It's terminal and probably not a lot of time left. He needed to go on a ventilator and probably won't get off it. Covid protocols allow one visitor, one hour a week, no exceptions. The poor guy is in a bed on a ventilator with his arms tied down (so he doesn't pull out ventilator), no TV for some reason and doc walks in and tells him he is cooked. Now he is alone with his thoughts for a week until he can get a short visit. The family is trying to work out who gets to see the dad before he dies as there probably isn't enough time for the wife and all the kids to get a turn. The dad took care of everything around the house so they want to get accounts and passwords out of him but can't given the time constraints. Appealed for compassionate exemption denied. Trying for hospice but low hopes when he is on a ventilator. A horrendous and unnecessarily inhumane way to go out.
