My wife is in the silver lining category.

Me? Meh, still employed. Never any shortage of work in my industry, especially with my experience.

More general politics related than Doug specific but am I the only one that hasn't seen this before? Really well done speech by Jeff Daniels on The Newsroom. Obviously written for the US but much of it could be applied to Canada as well. Comments show a very very polarized audience. I posted here out of interest, hopefully it doesn't grenade the thread. Keep it civil folks.

Is that the not exceptional speech? I’ll watch it later. It’s very good if it is and has been applicable to a few things over the years.

Be interesting to see what would happen if they got up the gumption to shut down Walmart, Amazon warehouses, food production and other potential superspreader places. My guess is that there'd be an injuction within 24 hours, and the Province would be wide open.

In the good news, my sister is getting her shot in Toronto. Still crickets in the north and east.

Well acted and edited. Very nice musical score. Hot chick. Very American, yup.

Bil got his in Midland. He lives in Thornbury. He wouldn't let them do it until he saw that it wasn't AZ. Lol.

Just heard that one of the vaccine companies had to throw out millions of shots do to human errors

On what side? Procurement? I’d have to say their IT side has to be top notch, just like their legal departments, because of the $$ figures involved. As a second year undergrad I worked in a big pharma location and I had a guy that would come in and wash my labware and another that would run my analytical samples....I’ve never had that anywhere else since. There was no expense spared.

Thanks man.

I can't go into details. I'm on "every side" software wise though.

Wait, I can say that their hardware IT is amazing. The last job I got they gave me a computer with 2GB of RAM because they're stupid as ****. The computer these guys gave me is better than my main rig and has 64 GB of RAM.....and a Geforce 2060 for some reason.

But if we talking software stuff like cloud services, databases, etc. etc......that's the same sad face story I've heard from docs and public health friends.

They were supposed to double the pharmacies and expand the regions of the 60-65 AstraZeneca shots 2 weeks ago. Nothing but crickets since.
Happening now. All regions will have pharmacies with AZ although for now it won't be "all" pharmacies. Anyone over 55 is eligible. I'd do it now if I weren't a year too young.

Thanks man.

My wife worked in public health IT as a software developer, their approach was horrible. My wife has worked for Fortune 100 companies in the past. When I worked with/in pharma anything I asked for I was given. Nearly 30 years ago I was writing my thesis and I mentioned that it wasn’t going too well with my home computer. They sent me one of the first all-in-one colour Apple Macs, mine to keep, to help. International conference with everything covered plus some time to play about and explore? No problem.
