YES, US immigration is broken, and has been for decades. But, this is "build the wall" 2.0, and will have disastrous consequences.

Within the borders of the US, American law supercedes International law, and to be honest I'm pretty sure American law supercedes International law outside the borders of the US too.

It's far from straight forward.. I don't think there's ever been a US president.. or President elect.. facing criminal charges.
Even if he wasn't re-elected.. the case was probably far from over.. appeals, motions, etc..
