One in every two people (that voted) in the US didn’t vote for Trump. That’s 50%. In a room of 10 random people, 5 people think he’s a dumbass. Take 100 random souls in the US and 50 of them think he’s a geriatric assclown, actually if we are being pedantic, 48.1 of them so far. No…not loud. The electoral college distorts the vote.
Americans have yelled it out pretty loud that they trust trump, but liberals keep on being liberals 😂😂

Last I heard there was pretty low count of ethnic minorities in the Senate or the House for Republicans. I expect that is also reflected in sitting Governors.

Doubt he will cross party line for optics.
62% of Americans are Caucasian, 20% Hispanic, and 12% black.

That’s the mix changes to about 90% Caucasian when you look at persons with advanced degrees, which is more or less a prerequisite for a senior role in government.

Also remember the Republicans are not the party of affirmative action, they prefer selections be made on meritorious or distinguished public service history as perquisites for senior roles in government.

Yup. They do.
I am of German heritage.
I know full well the horrors the Nazi regime caused. It is still a great cultural shame in Germany - you will almost never see a flag flying except on government buildings. This is the shame the average German feels.

Trump followed the Nazi playbook pretty much to the letter, with the exception of the night he was wandering around the stage for 20 minutes listening to a playlist of the PA system.

Do you really think that the average American in all the red states realize the ACA and ObamaCare are one and the same? Nope.

Thanks for writing this.

My parents lived through German occupation of Denmark in WWII. It is a time period that they spoke little about.

I have good friends that are Jewish. One of them never speaks of that time period, which his parents and grandparents surely went through. Another, lost some of her relatives in the concentration camps. Previous generation, yes, but she knows their names.

WE ALL see the parallels, and it scares the heck out of us. NO we recognise that the situation is not "the same". History doesn't repeat, but it rhymes. If my parents were alive, they would be shocked at what they saw.

That we as a society have fewer and fewer people who had direct experience in WWII, is both inevitable, and unfortunate.

Back then, it was 6 years from the problem being voted into power, and the start of a world war. It took another 6 years for that political movement to be smashed.

You an also say that only 20% of Americans voted against Trump.

That’s how we have fun with statistics!

I’d wouldn’t mind arguing here, but it’s too difficult to dodge the friendly fire.

Playing in a political forum can be tough if you you don’t have a good basic understanding of civics.

The postings that get shot down in flames are usually emotional or from those with Politicsl Science degrees from TikTok or Facebook U.

If you have things to say, say, say them. If you’re **** town, take the response as inspiration to learn.

Don't be afraid, don't troll - just think through your ideas and play in areas you understand and you’ll be fine.

Trump and Hitler both have the same scrabble score. And that is an absolute fact!
As do Obama and Bush. What’s your point?

Here's my silver lining.
He's almost 80, overweight, has a poor diet and what should be a stressful job.

When people start comparing trump to hitler, you know the brainwashing is complete
OK
Shall we compare him to Mussolini? Franco?
If you don't think Mr. Trump has fascist ideas, you've been brainwashed
"Make America Great Again" is on page two of the fascist handbook, demonizing Muslims? Page 3

If you're going to argue Trump isn't a Fascist, you should know what a fascist is AND what they sound like. Mr. Trump is a fair example.
Mr. Musk is working on it.

... and just as an aside: WHEN was America great? There's been times when white folks prospered, but that prosperity has always been on the back of other americans... great for white folks and everybody else paid the fare for that prospertity... sorta like the environment Mr. Musk was raised in.
Is that what they're aiming for? That's what it sounds like, and that's fascism. Textbook fascism.

Musk wants the checks and balances to go away - all in the name of 'efficiencies'.

I’d argue that Making America Great Again would also mean on the world stage. I think we are about to see the opposite to that. Allies will know they cannot rely on them and quite possibly cannot trust them with intelligence anymore. Climate initiatives will drive innovation in the rest of the world while the US stagnates. So Cletus in Kansas might feel good because the brown people are being picked on while the world moves ahead and Florida continues to turn itself into an underwater attraction.

I once heard that trump was popular with his original base because he hates the same people they do. It's hard not to see this as the truth.
Sure this past election brought in a whole other bunch simply voting with their wallets, but I still think a big chunk of his support comes from people who think america was great before "all that civil rights stuff"

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend."

I get this. I was always a conservative voter and thinker, a smaller government with less red tape is a conservative "thing".
And then I got older and wiser, and while I still agree with "smaller government", I have seen what is done with smaller government.
The business leaders say they will 'self police", but ALWAYS one of the first in-efficiencies to go is the "self policing". Boeing made great airplanes for a LONG time and when they were bought by a hedge fund the FIRST thing out the door was 80% of the floor inspectors.
Cost saving they said... planes dropping out of the sky was the result.
Wall St is a confidence game... or in common parlance A CON GAME. GME proved that... and another thing GME proved: you can use the system against itself, and WIN BIG TIME

Yep, we NEED a government that will control business, sorry but that's the way it is, because "business" has shown time and time again that "business" will play the rules.
humanity is a wonderful thing, too bad people keep screwing it up.

the US constitution say the government is "of the people and for the people"
Who wants to bold face lie to us and say that's where the Mr. Trump's government is headed. Mr. Trump is a HUGE fan of Reganomics, and it's been proven Reagonomics is a fascist doctrine, that does not work for the people. Trickle down economics does not work when Mr. Musk hoards huge piles of US cash in offshore holdings.
Capitalism works for capitalists, that own capital... don't want to be a capitalist? or don't have capital?
You starve, and that seems to be fine with a lot of people. I don't agree.

He's almost 80, overweight, has a poor diet and what should be a stressful job.

And his successor is a policy-by-wind-direction snake (who had once said Trump was like Hitler). That's like being asked if you'd rather be shot or hanged.
