Adding public sector jobs bumps up gdp to keep the illusion the country is doing well. Meanwhile it is completely unsustainable, people don't mind paying taxes for healthcare and education etc, but when it's just to pay for govt bloat it generally pisses everyone off.
If Trudeau keeps his job next election my faith in Canada and Canadians will be very diminished. His party needs to throw him overboard and steer the ship from full look to port, back towards the center.
If you add up hospital workers , fire police ambulances the garbage man , city gardeners , teachers and then ALL the administration that manages it , the number of people tied to a govt paycheck at some level may be more than 50% of us . I’m not sure we can do this forever, much less just longer .

the ethics punishments are a joke. everyone's happy to hold others to higher standards until it effects them.

Wtf are you smoking? When you are found guilty of a felony in the USA, you are by definition a convicted felon. Trump is a convicted felon. Nothing stops a convicted felon from running. You don't have a criminal record until after a sentence is registered.

Just to clarify, every dictionary defines felon as someone found guilty/convicted of criminal charges, no mention of sentence. You CAN be found guilty of a crime and get no sentence.

How bout this then: There isn't a hope in hell Mr. Trump could run for any elected office in Canada, north of a dog catcher, given his current legal standing. It is questionable if the man is even eligible to enter Canada legally. (He CAN, but if you or I were in the same boat? NOT A HOPE) (I would grant "Trudy" points if he denied Mr. Trump entry, because Mr. Trump CANNOT, by the letter of the law, enter Canada... but that would require intestinal fortitude that "Trudy" does not possess)
