Did you exercise today?

One of my new resolutions is to stretch daily for a minimum of 5min....

Followed this today...sweet baby Jesus I'm not flexible at all....

My pain started at the 3:16 mark...at the 4:20 mark I fell over as I can't even get down to a 45deg level...let alone flat on the floor.

But every journey starts with a single step.
I just followed this... thought I was okay until the spready on the ground. Couldn't even get my legs 90° apart 😅. And then the quad stretch, well I was nowhere near lying on the ground.

Today is just focusing on mobility and stretching since I mostly lift and was feeling a bit stiff after another night of snowboarding.

Good workout today, but as others have pointed out a while back...my routine is super boring.

Currently doing the chest/tri, back/bicep, and shoulder/legs split during the week. With pushups / crunches almost daily, and 3-6km walks as well.

Open to some new programs / routines where I can knock off a routine <40min or so.

Any and all recommendations welcome as this is getting boring, and I'd like to try something new.

Considering buying farmer's walk handles, and some battle ropes as well.

For a change of pace i go outside and do some overhead swings with a heavy sledge hammer on to my laying flat crossfit tire.
Good for the spine.

Tried carving training last night. It's rough with our small local hills as the training module requires 20 turns that meet its criteria to advance to the next level. Run out of hill before 20 unless tempo is really high. Had to bail to make supper for the family but got in 400 turns at ~1.5g with almost all weight on outside leg. Feeling it a bit today. Carving on skis vs bike is ass backwards. Bike is chest in hips out, skis are chest out, hips in (similar to slow speed tight turns on a bike). Takes a while to retrain muscle memory.

17 times on skis so far this season.

Adding a new exercise.

Farmer walks in the basement. Only about 20ft in one direction. But I can do a handful of laps and up and down the stairs. So 15 stairs total to the living room.

Should help with some cardio.

Wife is giving me poo about my posture...apparently as the gut grows...the shoulders are hunching and making me look really old :(

Havent posted in a bit, but rest assured still training, day before yesterday was core, yesterday was all about upper back and shoulders/delts.

I found that in order to keep improving you have to changing things up, by adding more weight, or trying different exercises etc...
My workouts consist of newer exercises but I also do a bunch of stuff I've been doing since high school so I thought id try to diversify things...

Found this channel that does all the research for me and I can just pick and choose the best, most engaging exercises for whatever im working on that day.

Finally got back into it. Took a week off for some reason and felt great at lunch time today.

Too cold for a walk outside. Too lazy to walk on the walking pad.

So knocked off some sets.

I must say...I was hesitant at first about this ANCORE business...but damn is it handy. If I actually believed I'd use it on vacation...I'd travel with it.

Sure did today! But I am an effing idiot...

Did the squats, and when I setup for deadlift I had 164lbs in my mind, but without thinking just kept adding more weight...

'hmmm...this is heavier than I thought. Must be losing it'
'damn...can't do 12 reps at 164...wth'
'oh...this is 214lbs...not 164...'

I'm a feel this one tomorrow.

EDIT: for the record...

12 x 214lbs
8 x 214lbs
8 x 214lbs

I remember you posting weights a while back.. you're DL weight was so far outta line with everything else.. that imo there had to be something else making you think you couldn't do more.. bad math may have just proved that.. 50lbs more than you thought!?

My deadlift has always been fairly consistent. Get up to 180ish, and then drop down again.

Honestly I was focused on something else and just wasn’t paying attention.

I squared 224lbs x 3 x 12 today, then took the weights off to adjust the barbell position.

And just kept adding weights.

I think I saw the 224, didn’t pay attention, and just racked it and started lifting.

We’ll know tomorrow. Just had a good steak with my wife for early Valentines Day at the Keg…now off for a 4km walk.

I’m in a rut because I can’t feel my shoulders from the weekend…but today they’re better.

also tried out that bike trainer from you and while it’s weird at first…seems good overall.

Now just to find more free time…
