I'm not a big S2000 fan but I know they're on the top of a lot of people's lists. Hard to come by though.
First N/A production car to break the 100HP/L mark.

I've noticed a rather wide spread, between kijiji and bat, when it comes to mileage. You're right.
I just did a Kijiji search after my post. Lots out there!
$25K nets you a 150K-200K km version though. Still, Honda reliability, right?
They're not my choice. I've driven one and it felt boringly slow unless you kept it high up in the rpm all the time. You're right.

That should be easily done in your budget. I have a 98 Camaro rs convertible with a 3.8 that I picked up for 8k southern car always stored inside. Needed intake gaskets and coolant tubes took a weekend in my garage and has been rock solid so far. Now's a good time of the year to buy a convertible so what's your choice in one with a $25,000 budget? Only necessity is that it needs to be an automatic trans (I know, I know).
My heart (and age) wants to say a 2002ish Firebird Trans Am convertible.
Had a 98 SS vert for better than 20 years was a very fun Sunday car the LS engine made the package IMO tho. That should be easily done in your budget. Yeah the 6 is a ok cruiser but the 8 would have been more fun but also hard on my license.Had a 98 SS vert for better than 20 years was a very fun Sunday car the LS engine made the package IMO tho.
I've owned two different Porsches for 20 years.
2004 986Which ones?
The newest, lowest mileage Mustang GT…Now's a good time of the year to buy a convertible so what's your choice in one with a $25,000 budget? Only necessity is that it needs to be an automatic trans (I know, I know).

Agreed. Who wants to drive around at 8500rpm to have any performance. I looked at them when they were new and thats what turned me off. Choose a Boxster instead. The Porsche in 3rd gear at 5500rpm is an absolute blast. The newest, lowest mileage Mustang GT…
S2000 is great, but super small and needs to be wound to be any fun. A few friends have them but they’re no fun unless you’re ripping on it.
I would disagree look for one that is old enough that values have bottomed and are rising so there is no depreciation. A 4th gen f body should fit that bill. A almost new mustang will depreciate like a rock a fox body no so much. The newest, lowest mileage Mustang GT…

An old Porsche...comes with heavy maintenance bills IMO. I've never had one...although I want one and would have one in a heartbeat if I could afford it. A Boxster S would make me clean out the garage in an instant.Agreed. Who wants to drive around at 8500rpm to have any performance. I looked at them when they were new and thats what turned me off. Fair. I like the new ones, and at 25k...I'd say most of the depreciation hit has already taken place.I would disagree look for one that is old enough that values have bottomed and are rising so there is no depreciation. I wont argue. I've been lucky. With over 75000kms owning two of them I had to have a AC hose replaced 2 summers ago. $1600. Thats it. 981's are incredibly reliable. An old Porsche...comes with heavy maintenance bills IMO. I've never had one...although I want one and would have one in a heartbeat if I could afford it. Can’t remember who told me this (possibly here).I wont argue. I've been lucky. With over 75000kms owning two of them I had to have a AC hose replaced 2 summers ago. $1600. Thats it. 981's are incredibly reliable.
But yes parts are an eye watering price. I know someone that had to replace both headlight assemblies on a MY2000 Boxster. About $2500 each.
