Covid booster

Good protection "against serious disease".

Not the same thing as good protection against infection.

While it would be nice to have a booster shot that gives good protection against infection, such a thing is not available yet.

In the absence of that, I'll settle for something that improves my odds of staying out of the hospital. I can deal with being under the weather for a couple of days, should it come to that.
this exactly , i'll take my chances feeling crappy for a few days if it means not breathing through a corrugated hose for a week or two , or longer

I got my booster and had no side effects… I am exploding with RF now 😆😆

So Dr. Moore's announcement today talked about no more PCR testing for the general public unless you work in health care/LTC, shortened isolation timelines, differentiation of hospitalization due to Covid-19 versus people in hospital who were also diagnosed with Covid-19, schools going back on January 5th instead of the 3rd and a 4th dose for the elderly who had their 3rd dose more than three months ago...

No more useful numbers make it easier to justify decisions.

The testing delays and backlog means the numbers from the last few days were not reflective of reality anyhow. Exponential growth at an explosive rate will blow through your capacity to deal with it. Same situation is going to exist everywhere. Can't fight the whole fire, can only fight the worst piece of it. Something like this was sure to happen.

Remember...6 more doubling periods until it blows through the whole population. If it followed that pattern with mathematical precision then about a quarter of the population will get infected on the last day (but then that's the end of it). It won't quite be like that, but it is going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better. Heard of some organisations planning for a third of their workforce to be off sick or in isolation simultaneously. Think about that.

@Brian P that workforce shortage will bring chaos to schools...we were already experiencing a shortage of supply teachers before the break and seeing as we can't mix co-horts it's going to be very interesting indeed...now mind you, I personally think the two day delay for us going back is just a ruse and we'll actually be put online before that even happens...just my thought, so we'll see what happens...

Jan 5 is 10 days from Christmas. I guess they are counting on everyone that was infected on the 25th being clear by then.
