My dad ripped a Submariner 1689 off one of his employee's wrists about 35 years ago, it's been in it's original box since. The watch was 1 hour old, bought for $1000 at MGM Grand in Vegas after a good night at the tables. The two schools of economics, buy it because you like it, buy it because it may/will go up in value. You have 50/50 shot unless your grabbing something that has seen a 7-9% increase every year if cared for .
914, find somebody that likes them and your good, but your up against 1000 sellers and buyers that say not a porche...
If your dad bought a Rolex submariner or sea dweller 30 yrs ago your golden, it went from $879.00 to 15K for a clean one . But hope dad didn't buy an Rolex president .
Dad took it off his wrist because they both worked for a watch manufacturer that wasn't Rolex.
