Const. James Forcillo shot Sammy Yatim - the trial

Re: James Forcillo guilty of attempted murder!!!

As much as I am happy that Forcillo got charged, Sammy's mother needs to shut the hell up, she has no business been involved in police officer training decisions. We need outside companies specialized on it providing consultation to any gaps and not some woman with no formal education on the matter.

People are so stupid

Re: James Forcillo guilty of attempted murder!!!

How do you get charged with attempted murder when a person gets killed?so you attempted to kill some one and.. It worked. Is that not murder?

All that's left now is to measure him up for an ankle bracelet.

He did a better job at murdering the kid that most murderes who get convicted! I dont know how this is attempted murder either but im still surprised he even got that!
If it wasnt because of that video, he wouldve walked a free man!
But on the CBC website, read the comments. I didnt see even one person not outraged!

We don't have to worry about him for now, but what about all the other cops that have the same deficient training than Forcillo, and his same poor judgement?

Isn't this the right time for Mayor Tory to start promising actual solutions to this problem? Even if it takes 10 years.

Re: James Forcillo guilty of attempted murder!!!

Watch the news, they explained it quite well.

Re: James Forcillo guilty of attempted murder!!!

this cop will never see a day behind bars, by the time it gets sorted with appeals the judge will call it timed served.

my question is how does he get charged and convicted and get suspended and still draw a pay cheque from tax payers

+1 soon to be swept under the rug and forgotten, and likely nothing actually done to prevent this from happening again. Business as usual! shoot first ask question later, and still get paid LOL

+100
two cops standing beside forcillo didn't even draw their guns from their holsters. yet forciilo "feared for his life"?
then the endless shots. mind boggling.
holly faaack

Its crazy to think anyone can watch that and not think he did anything wrong. I mean the amount of time he takes to pause between shots, and yet he just keeps shooting him slowly but repeatedly. No one else firing just him, over and over slowly, just like target practice .....I just dont get it, it makes me so mad they can get away with that with a slap on the wrist

Close proximity to knife death. He feared for his life and adrenalin was pumping. It's been explained a 1000 times. People don't understand the mean streets.

Maybe its common sense maybe its training? IMO however I do not see a person trying to get up and attack, I see someone who just took multiple .40 cal to the body dying on the ground. He didnt shoot him in the head, so it was not an instant death, or painless. So yeah the kid is rolling around in pain dying.

So from my point of view, what I see is, "oh hes still moving, shoot him again, oh more movement not dead shoot him again, and again and again" and then taser dude shows up. And they start over but with a taser because he is still moving...

Either way training or just his personal approach to the situation at hand I think its wrong....

If he stopped shooting even after the first 3 Id have a different opinion, but for me its like watching someone get slowly executed..Its hard to watch

Have to agree with the peanut gallery. He was found guilty of "attempted murder", which only leads me to believe someone led the jury down the garden path. I have seen the knife training video that cops watch. Regardless this was, as any fool can see from the video evidence, 2nd degree murder. I hope a judge overturns the decision on appeal and slams him with 2nd degree and 20 years. He has a history of being gunhappy this guy.

That's why he was found guilty of attempted murder. The kid died from the first shots, which the idiot jury somehow found to be justified. The second volley was the unsuccessful attempt, because he was basically dead anyway.

Convoluted.

there is gonna be a real twist in the coming months to this case. like i said in the other thread this guy will never see a day in jail.

Re: James Forcillo guilty of attempted murder!!!

WOW>
just watched the video, unbelievable. the kid looks like he is holding a butter knife and I counted 12 cops in that video. ...and then the taser??

Wow! If there is karma... if only I hope there is.

That is F*n Murder!!!

One of the more insightful posts on the subject. What about the other similarly trained ones out there? Who picked / trained them? Why aren't the trainers singled out? Are they going to design the new sensitivity program?

The big problem with para-militaristic organizations is that to get ahead you must comply with your superiors. By the time you get high enough in rank to make a change you've been corrupted.
