I don't what kind of 600cc is he talking about. If he is saying he smoked a 600cc touring bike or cusier than maybe. I ride a 2003 yamaha r6. and its does quater mile 11.25 sec and top speed of 290km. Unless that guy is packing a v8 super charger under that tiny hood (which is impossible becasue the tranny can't handle that) there is no way he is touching my R6. In personal note that day i smoked a corvette in striaght line...:D

This guy has nothing. His car isnt that quick. I beat him on the street with my old civic last year. He puts up alot of money cause then people back down.

Lets do some "On-Paper" analysis to see how modified this legendary Civic has to be

For argument sake lets compare it to a CBR 600 RR
The CBR is 410 lb or 186 kg with 118 HP which means 0.634 HP/KG
The stock Civic weighs around 1100 kg and lets say he somehow shaved 200 KG ( or almost 400 lb) off the weight. At 900 KG the Civic needs to push 570 HP to match the RR's ratio ... possible ? ...

Huh? Are you sure about that? I have some 09 Gixxer 750 buds that would have a problem with what you just wrote. ;)
 
I'm not gonna read all the pages on my blackberry but I bet its the same civic I'm thinking of. Matts old car. And yes it would flog a 600 ss from a roll and a dig. :).
 
Just to add. If It is the same civic I'm thinking of. About 4 years ago maybe a bit more when built it ran low 11's at over 120 mph on an autocross tire with a soft launch. Motor was capable of 800 hp but made about 430 back then. Since then its been played with and has been well into the 10s. And its a street car. I hate civics but this thing is a sleeper. Looks stock has some rust and goes like hell.

I don't know what type of R6 you have but it will not go 290km/h. I just read the link you posted and it even said 161 mph. Doesn't compute.

its possible, I see people slap in ITR motors, boost the **** out of it, and skunk2 the motor, giving them close to 600hp. on a Civic! :happy3:

But this guy, I think is full of ****, Unless the guy that was riding the motorcycle didnt know what he was doing.
 
Its not matts old car. Its a different guy. Matts was a stock white with rust. This car is type r white paint. with a 2.2L prelude motor, maybe turbo or what ever.
 
I will put money down for someone to race him. I just don't like how arrogant he is. Anyone willing to set anything up? Split 50/50 if you win? lol

Okkk. its goes up to 258km/h. How it doesnt' compute? That's still very fast for most cars, speically for a hatchback civic.
 
yesterday at the timmies meet, a civic with twin turbo pulled up... guy said he can take anyone on a 600 from a stop on lakeshore...

** thats just a bump for the 4th year anniversary of this thread..

The original car that was mentioned had a plate that read UNTCHBL, that's where the name came from.
Yeah it was fast for it's time, ran 13.30's all day (4-5 years ago). It actually went 12.30 once on a 75 shot right before he sold it. The original owner (Rick)got married and bought himself a STI and sold the hatch soon after.

Was it fast, yes, for it's time. Would it outrun a bike not likely unless it was a new rider.

P.S The reason it sounded boosted was he ran the motor on ITB'S (individual runners,one throttlebody per cylinder)

i remember that car back in the day...

untouchable my ***....he got spanked hardcore by a bunch of other civics.
then there was RCBH (red civic black hood), sleeperish type of a civic, minus the exhaust pipe out the front bumper.

but that was a GSR motor booster and gutted. it ran decent times...

my buddy Joey also had an H22 turbocharged civic....lol traction? whats that?
