Civic vs. 600

holy crap this is old. I will throw in my 2 cents. I use to do bracket racing in cayuga. I've raced all kinds of ****. At that time I had a new 2000 VTR 1000(raced it many x that summer)...I could run 11.8 all day and actually won 2nd place and $300 once. I raced a civic once. At the tree I thought good night Irene, I'm going to smoke this thing...WRONG. I didn't catch up until the end and he trapped at 130mph and I was 128mph. He ran a high ten. (this was in 2000 and not everyone around had a turbo car so I had to talk to him). Car made 600hp. Traction is the biggest issue. So yes civic's can beat 600's.
I have a friend whos crx ran 12's before he sold the turbo (his car is now in hibernation under a car cover and has been for 5yrs..often wonder if he'll ever get it back out.)

I'm not even going to lie. I have always been a fan of EK civics. Wish I bought one when I was younger and the fast and the furious craze was in. Fun times.

I have a soft spot for EK civics too. I hated them when they were current, but I love em now. Never liked FWD cars before when I was in the street racing thing.. I guess their simplicity just grew on me. My uncle bought a brand new EG back in '93 and as a kid I thought it was the coolest **** ever. In retrospect it was a pretty slow car, but it was an Si hatch and I now know it must've handled just great and it weighed nothing.

If I had more garage space I'd probably buy a Civic just for ***** and giggles. Unfortunately they're almost all rusted to hell. A clean Integra Type R would actually be a decent investment too.
 
While the look of an ek isn't horrible (that white one above is quite nice actually) after driving vr6 gti's I'd never go back to mega slow and fwd. Just my $0.02
