Chicken strips among Toronto sport bikes

Why do people buy Ferraris and Lambos, or restore classic cars when all they end up becoming are driveway or garage queens? Some people just love the look and feel of sport bikes.

I find when I was younger, I couldn't buy anything, now I buy them and don't have that much time to enjoy it.

Lol, temper temper... sorry if one of those bikes I saw today was yours, didn't mean to offend you, all I asked is how is it possible to preserve 10cm of unused rear on both sides of a sport bike. Do me a favor and solve the mystery for me and whoever else is interested, please.

Question - is this Gixxer your first bike?

You seem to have too many questions and no answers. The answer is no, it is my second (if you don't count the dirt bikes in the past). What the hell is your problem?! I walked by a line of bikes with my coffee in hand and I noticed the unworn tires, then asked a question. Chill dude...don't be such a tool..

one, I am sure that your 10cm is an exaggeration.

second, riding downtown is a huge savings cost. my parking pass at Scotia Plaza was 260 a month, so riding was cheaper, its also faster because certain corridors allowed you to lane split with the parked cars (Bayview), or has an HOV lane (Eglinton)

thirdly, people just ride the bike they have, so you saw a few older supersports worth 5 g with chicken strips, big deal, its not like there is a RSV4 that obviously just goes straight.

I have 2 bikes, but not everyone has multiple bikes. Its unclear to me whether your point is that people should sell their bikes just go commute, or you are completely overlooking the fact that even riding a bike without leaning is more fun than driving a car ( and paying more ).

Actually, I swear some of the bikes did come close to 10cm on each side, and that's what made it odd!

My bus pass is 337 / month, damnit...yet, riding through traffic---not my cup of tea :( I'd have to quit my job if I had no other choice. Maybe these commuters are actually heroes, the more I think about it, the more I admire them, lol

OP is looking for a practical reason why people buy race bikes to commute on. Exactly, same thing as sitting in grid lock with a lambo. Hey everyone look at me!!!!!

then again the people actually riding those bikes the way they're meant to be ridden are nutters.

Nobody commented that I posted up a picture of a front wheel. This, to me, is comedy.

Great thread! 5-star trolling.

You might have been better off without the edit. I was just asking a simple question to roughly gauge how much experience you might have with different motorcycles. If you've owned several bikes and, better yet, have changed tires on a few, then you may be able to better understand some of the variables involved. Apparently asking you questions seems to upset. Sorry I bothered, I was just trying to help.

No hostility here. Apparently the sarcasm was a mistake - apologies. You're the one taking things out of proportion. Hope you find the answers you're looking for. Have a nice weekend.

My bike is a sport touring, does that mean I am allowed chicken strips when I tour but not when I ride it like a sport bike? If so, should I be alternating between 2 sets of tires?

It should be obvious. If not... what can I say? And yeah, I want a cookie. Chocolate chip with hazelnuts if you have it... Trolls Assemble!

Well it's not obvious..

You have unused portions of your front tire.. so does everyone.

Yeah..that was my thought. Chicken strips happen front and back.. Dunno..seems irrelevant.. ??

Actually, there's no chicken strip on that front tire. And the newbs are comparing chicken strips on the rear. Clearer? No? It appears it's possible to troll even the GTAM veterans.

It's no clearer why you posted a pic of your front rire.

Further, you have about 2-3mm of unused tire on the RH that I can see. Whatever.

Dunno..think your troll failed...just seems like a fail all around.. Meh..

Don't know him personally.... but I'd be willing to bet a medium doubledouble while getting my pose on @ L&L on a hot and sweaty nut thurs night that the OP is a new rider with less than 1yr under his/her chastity belt but can probably ride the pants off anyone in the city lol.

Oh and fyi I prefer my strips to be called chicken wings, because like Redbull they can make you fly ahahhahahaha

Anyone wanna go for a rip? My bike is hungry.

This thread wreaks of gayballness.

That is all.
