Chicken strips among Toronto sport bikes

Oooooh... I've been counter-trolled... by the blind! So much fail in this thread.

We touched on front chicken stripes earlier. If one can scuff to the edges on a front, on the street, they earn street god status. Along with GTAM moderator scorn.

Not doing anything wrong, a ninja 250 turns on a dime, and you really don't need to lean it as much as a bigger bike. Now if you are riding below the speed limit and parking it in every corner, then you might want to work on your cornering skills.

so what am I doing wrong ?

6500+km on stock tires been 2 months since I got it.

Both are back tire.

I tried putting oil on my tires to cook the chicken strips, but all it did was make it more slippery. WTF?

I fried up my chicken strips in oil, the other night. A 748 broke its chain at Shannonville, threw most of aluminum gear case into the air and showered me in 15W50. Very tasty!

You might have been better off without the edit. I was just asking a simple question to roughly gauge how much experience you might have with different motorcycles. If you've owned several bikes and, better yet, have changed tires on a few, then you may be able to better understand some of the variables involved. Apparently asking you questions seems to upset. Sorry I bothered, I was just trying to help.

No hostility here. Apparently the sarcasm was a mistake - apologies. You're the one taking things out of proportion. Hope you find the answers you're looking for. Have a nice weekend.

No worries, thanks for your post :) Yea, I guess it is hard sometimes to gauge tone by just reading a message, just like it's hard to gauge skill based on chicken strips :)

Cheers!

The metzler feelfrees have little elephants moulded onto the edge of the tread to troll you :p

A friend that i do DOCC Mosport with is always ****** that he can't keep up with the Muffin on his 749.His tires (same as mine/same pressures) are always shagged. My tires are nicely worn with a little chicken strip still (lap times are about 1:40).He says he has a knee down in a few places. The only place my knee is down is sometimes in t10.
My point is this.Suspension setup and rider style has a lot to do with going fast and tire wear.

Oh hey, i dug up a pic of one of my street bikes... no chicken strips on this, baby!

I;m trying to think where i could possibly get a knee down at Mosport....not that it's necessary btw....maybe Moss' depending on traffic and maybe 10 with the re-paving.....BUT gauging chicken strips on street riders whether a 250 or 1000....is just a dumb conversation....take it to the track...then lets talk

Chicken Stips, LOL Not on this (Picture taken from the trailer towing thread) Two bikes, same corner, one leaned over so no chicken strips, other did not have to lean at all to make the same turn at the same speed! So BIG Strips!

190s on a 600ss. I have chicken strips. So many variables that this argument is useless.

+1
i use 190's on the track and i get to the edge...i've also used 200's and there's a slight strip....but that is at the track!! not on the street

as you can see I was riding hard but its impossible to get rid of chicken strips when running bigger tires on stock rims...I do not regret it though, I would pick these tires over stock sized bias-ply ones any day.

I'd rather run stock sizes with zero chicken strips than have an explanation on why I don't have a vagina.
