Cagers and how they drive.

Running joke;

BMW owners never signal, so the most useless job ever was hiring someone to install them at the factory.
I’ll have you know out of the 5 BMWs I saw on the 401 today 3 used their signals. One even used it AS he forced me to brake because he needed to be inside the same time and space as me.

i think you mean call to rant about things. we have a streetlight out at my work where we have heavy industrial vehicles going in and out.
leaves a completely dark spot on the sidewalk which makes it impossible to see pedestrians at night.
been half a year since we reported it, tried contacting local MPs, nada.

this x1000. there are douchbag drivers that know what they are doing is wrong and choose to endanger others and be selfish ******** (bmw drivers, etc). but the vast majority are people that literally just drive to get from A and B and don't know any better or care to be better drivers.

better drivers ed and licensing might have solved this but you're right that automation will come before NA govts ever do anything about that.
Called before about a signal and they were out within a week, and tuned it to motorcycles and bicycles. Also, called about a tree and it was the same. Your city might be sh***y. If that didn't work, I'd call my Alderman, oops, Councillor; it should be easier than speedbumps for them.

where are you located? this is scarborough. we did contact the councillor, got some generic reply saying to try 311.

Hmm interesting. I am in Scarborough, and that hasn't been my experience with my recent tree issue. They do connect with 311, but they will state if the matter hasn't had a response in "x" days they will step in (and list who on staff will be responsible), now of course you should also follow up to let them know.

Also being polite and courteous with the operators at 311 and staff in general will go a long way with them, I am sure they have a hard enough time with public.

I'm up near Ottawa.

I didn't read anything after the first page of this thread but I've been riding my first BMW for a month now and I'm on a BMW talk group and find about 50% of the people in the group douchy compared to the other makes that I'm a part of where most are awesome. There's truth in the BMW stereotype I guess (me not included of course and I still use my signals!).
all that matters is, is the bike a good one? 50% is a pretty high douchebaggery ratio but you'll get them anywhere, just enjoy your ride

Might be from a locale where right turn on red is not allowed, or they're not certain of being able to make the turn.
Better than rolling through and creeping along at 1/4 the speed limit, while cutting off a motorcycle which is at the limit.
I noticed a common phenomenon where a bid nosed semi stopped at a red light but had pulled up as far as it could without entering cross traffic. The pedestrian crossing was completely blocked.
A car wanting to make a right on red was having to stick its nose out about 2 meters to see if anything was coming. The next car in line for a right wouldn't have been aware of the situation.

@Gary Just a heads up. The city has posted the speed limit on my street. Please do your best to observe it next time you ride up the street. Don't want Saint Dimitri getting his panties wadded up over any flagrant violations (and possible HTA 172 infractions). Thanks in advance.

Anyone saw the smashed minivan at the Cambridge on route?

With all the sand, 40kph might be pushing it!
Seriously.......your street?

I got 30 km/h and a photo radar on my street, so consider yourself lucky.
Do you get in more trouble for a flip plate or a wheelie if you don't want photo radar to get you? Are active radar countermeasures legal in ontario (eg chaff triggered by radar beam?, littering ticket?).

I just go 30 km/h on a cruise control past radar before speeding back to 80 km/h. I love when people hate me.

What's next, photo radar?
I hope not. I usually loft the front end when I leave and back it in to my driveway coming home, both of which are 172s

I don’t have a choice. If I don’t do it the neighbours will start asking me if there’s something wrong with my bike.
