That makes it simple. Speed doesn't matter at that point. No pedals means it's not an ebike. It is an unlicensed, uninsured motorcycle. They come with pedals, most of them I see have them removed.

I wonder if Wynne (or was it Mcguinty) is proud of what they did. Wankers. With the law they implemented, this was inevitable. I wonder who paid and how much to have these things approved without licensing/insurance.I’ve posted this before…this thing shouldn’t be legal to ride without a license of some type. And (I hate saying this) insurance should be on this thing…

LoL ya. And you’re confused. They’re proud of THEMSELVES because they’ll pat themselves on the back, enjoy their salary, and everyone will tell them ‘good job’.I wonder if Wynne (or was it Mcguinty) is proud of what they did. In an especially nice touch, this one is parked on the sidewalk. Try that with your motorbike and see how it goes.
A hill by my house is good for an easy 70 km/h but the trick is there are tracks at an angle most of the way down. Not ideal. It's doable.
I hills.
I grew up in Ottawa and rode those hills regularly in High School. Got going very fast sometimes, but then the speed wobble would kick in and scare the **** out of me.A hill by my house is good for an easy 70 km/h but the trick is there are tracks at an angle most of the way down. Not ideal.
Coming down out of gatineau park is a fun descent. Elbows on the hoods of a borrowed bike at 80 km/h with minimal pedalling required and lots of twists and turns.
Thankfully none of my current rides have stability issues. My old road bike (fiori roma) starts flexing and bouncing at around 80 km/h (coming down from the lookout above KD in Minden). I wasnt entirely sure if it was a wheel balance issue or bombs in the road setting it off. No side to side issues but the front axle was moving forward and back in an alarming fashion. I will never ride that bike that fast again, I was worried it was going to come apart which would be very bad for me.I grew up in Ottawa and rode those hills regularly in High School. Yeah, Mine was probably due to wheel balance issues. it was more a little side to side wobble. It was either my Peugeot U08 or my Bottecchia.Thankfully none of my current rides have stability issues. Even with a helmet, bailing at speed with some spandex and a tiny piece of styrofoam would suck.Back in the day we used to crank the speeds down the escarpment in Niagara (various roads), that was on 80s era lower end Velo Sport etc. "10 speeds". No speedometers or computers back then to quote a speed but we cranked as hard as we could all the way down. What strikes me now....no helmets, cheap tires, crappy brakes.
On my TCR I will hit 60 to 70 kph now on roads like Edenbridge in TO. Does not seem as fast as back in the day but then again that was over 30 years ago so it is hard to tell.
Trust me it did (low side) for pretty much all of us at least once. Lucky we all kept our heads up when sliding....Even with a helmet, bailing at speed with some spandex and a tiny piece of styrofoam would suck.

I get that, but try riding a bicycle in gear once and you feel like dying within a km. Your choices are take your chances in a crash (gloves, shoes, helmet and camelbak give me some touch points to try to slide on) or don't ride a bicycle.I had jeans on for that pinecone slip everyone laughs at and my knee skin was literally gone. That was less than 20km/h lol
I don't know if I'll be comfortable riding a bicycle pretty much naked ever again.
