What Ford is doing most wrong is not hiding these antics at all and too many people that want to see him go down in flames.
A buddy of mine used to be a city councillor while also being a heavy drug user -- even going as far as shooting speed and doing lines in the washroom stalls in bars -- I witnessed some of it, along with a still sitting Mayor of another city in Ontario that I know quite well. This buddy, as a councillor, used to attend all of the conferences held for politicians around the country and he'd come home with stories and in some cases pictures of just how wild they got sometimes as well as how little work they did on the taxpayer's dime. According to him, and of course anecdotal only, you would not believe how many 'high rollers' are also quite heavy drug users -- they are just much much better at hiding it and not going down in flames. I don't remember him ever mentioning crack though... I think that was a little to low-brow for that scene.
