A note on the "Crackstarter" campaign, that's being run by Gawker: If their fund raising total hits $200K, your credit card/account will be debited. This has nothing to do with their actual specific performance goal of obtaining the video. If they 'can't contact the people with the video' will they refund that money? Doubtful.

Last I heard they will give it to a Canadian substance abuse charity, does not sound like anyone will get their money back.

Don't forget someone (doesn't matter who, according to the TOS on this site) was referred to as a "hammerhead", "idiot", and much more defamation made by the MOD, who bans, hands out infractions etc for MUCH, MUCH less to site / forum members.

Apparently Ford will be doing a press conference, some time before 4:00pm today. It's likely in response to 6 of his inner circle, and his deputy mayor, stating in an open letter that he needs to directly address this issue, so that they can all get back to work.

Unfortunately he keeps saying things in a way that people who don't like him can easily spin into something. For example, "I don't do that." instead of saying, "I didn't do that." or, "I never did that." Watch how that gets spun.

If i was mayor of the 4th largest city in N.A. and someone accused me of smoking crack and i hadn't ever smoked crack- i'd say..."i am telling you right now i have never smoked crack- i didn't smoke drugs in the last 6 months and this story is complete and utter ****ing ******** (well- maybe i wouldn't swear that much in public)...The story is a lie and i challenge anyone to come forward with proof that i have smoked crack- or called Trudeau a fag, etc. There is no video of me smoking crack and if there is a video- it will turn out it is fake and prove unequivocally that it isn't me."
That is what i would say if i was innocent and the mayor...
If i had smoked crack, called Trudeau a faggot, etc. - and i thought there might be a video kicking around out there in the hands of some drug dealers i was with, but, i had a glimmer of hope that the video might never surface- i'd act the exact same as Rob Ford is acting.

^^ I can't think of any reasons why he WOULDN'T want to vehemently deny these accusations if they were indeed completely untrue. He says his lawyer told him to shut up, but why have a press conference now but still not actually deny the events took place? It makes no sense. I think he was there and the video is legit. I also think it's gone now and will never surface, but he's treading lightly in case it does.

I'd deny the HELL out of such a thing if it was a fabrication. If, however, I knew the video was real, I'd do exactly what the big guy is doing now.

That would be the obvious response. But consider the rough and unjust ride (in his mind, anyway) he's gotten in the past and full well knowing that the video doesn't (can't) exist he may well say eff it and play the tease.

Do you honestly believe that? Seriously? He is just teasing? If that is true- it is almost as bad as him smoking ****ing crack- cause would have to be ****ing retarded to do that now that this has drawn international attention to Toronto. It isn't (and never was) just Rob Ford vs the Star as much as they are desperately trying to make it out to be...

Besides....This guy is supposed to be a straight shooter and has never had a problem yelling and screaming about things he finds unjust or disagrees with.

:p I don't honestly have to believe anything. I think I said consider it. It's a frickin clown show over there in Toronto, is it not? The reaction to a video that may or may not exist was way over the top. The frothing couldn't wait 'til an actual video showed up? I wouldn't put it past a guy like Ford to play with it, especially after all that's gone on already in besmirching his good name.
