Hahahhah---yeah---sorry man- i sounded a bit dickish there---
just reread my reply and realized it sounds like i actually give a **** about this story...i really don't.
Don't live in Toronto, don't follow Toronto politics much, and other than jokes on MSN from my co-workers in other countries today-the Ford's trials and tribulations have no bearing on my daily life at all...i just heard the press conference and thought that it seemed pretty obvious that he really had smoked crack.
Don't think there is any doubt that there actually IS a video...
As much as the Star reporters may dislike the guy and want to 'besmirch his 'good name'- it seems VERY unlikely that they'd make up a completely false, detailed story about a video and claim at least 3 people have seen it...They would be ruining their careers and potentially getting sued (i'd imagine?) if they just totally made up the story. That seems much more unlikely than the erratic behaving mayor getting wasted and hauling back on a pipe then not categorically denying it like you'd expect any rational human would do -for over a week...
That said-

Why isn't the bigger issue besides the smoking crack allegations is he associated with drug dealers because in that picture he's in his everyday sweatsuit and couple beer in hand doesn't look like someone taking photo ops.

Unfortunately he keeps saying things in a way that people who don't like him can easily spin into something. For example, "I don't do that." instead of saying, "I didn't do that." or, "I never did that." Watch how that gets spun.

I think he's letting them dig their own grave or as one of my old teachers used to say, give them enough rope to hang themselves. If I was Ford, and knew the video doesn't exist, I would've toyed with them let them drag my name in the mud then sue the crap out of them for defamation. That should make them look like a complete fool.

The Star is doing a fine job of making a tool out of themselves. I used to read them, but I think I'm just going to grab the Sun next time.

I haven't read all the recent posts, so I don't know if this has been mentioned but I find it odd he holds a press conference just days after they said they haven't been able to contact the people with the video again. It's entirely possible that Ford purchasd the video.

latest news is that the Mayor's ex-chief of staff was fired, partly because after his release from coaching football at Don Bosco, he instructed Towhey to immediately go and retrieve thousands of dollars worth of football equipment that he had donated to the school....... the chief of staff allegedly told the mayor that this wouldn't look good and refused to do it....... the other reason was that he advised the mayor to get some help............ I guess he HAD to go ... makes perfect sense....... Stay Classy Mr Mayor

That Globe story is something else.

That story describes Doug Ford as a drug dealer.
It describes Randy Ford as a drug dealer and a thug.
And it describes the Ford sister as associated to drug addicts, drug dealers, and white supremacists.

Doug tried to defend himself a couple of hours ago.

The Globe immediately replied: "Our story has been scrutinized and is accurate. The facts don’t seem to be what’s in question. Doug Ford is avoiding the issue at hand"

Basically, The Globe is taunting the Mayor and all his family, almost like saying "If this is not true, sue us".

My guess:
Doug Ford will not sue.
Randy Ford will not sue.
Why?
Because it is true, they were drug dealers!!!

Shame on them.
