Here's a prime example of why these 'minor and irrelevant' things actually matter; Mammoliti's loans. The investors who 'loaned' him money felt pressured to do so. There have been statements made that he has not paid back this money so was it a loan, or was it graft?

Not only must impropriety be avoided at all costs, but the APPEARANCE of impropriety must be avoided. That's why you don't use city letterhead, for non city business. That's why you are very careful to stick to the rules of proper procedure. That's why when something is wrong, it's wrong.

OK so he doesn't care about the rules, doesn't even bother to look them up. Goes by his inate sense of "right and wrong". Big deal, we all do that every time we install new software.

OK, so he oopsed by using mayoral letterhead , big whoop. It's not like he's a city clerk trying to push his weight around. He's the mayor, and everybody knows it, letterhead or not. Though the mayor should follow the same rules as the clerk, sure.

OK, so he went against the advice of legal council and participated in the vote that was trying to get him off the hook. This time he actually had good solid advice and ignored it. Dunno what's up with that, but still, just a character flaw. Not a big deal.

OK, now he has to explain himself in court. And out comes... no apology, no remorse. Tells the judge he would break the law again if he was in the same situation. TO THE JUDGE. WTF is this guy smoking?

Sorry, where's the crooked rich guy in this story?

While I wish this would apply to all politicians, it's such a hard commodity to find nowadays. Not many around of those who live by the same principles.

Well here's the thing: Any regular citizen can call them on this sort of thing, using the same sort of rules that were used against Ford. All that it takes is caring enough to look, then find representation.

Thanks to Ford, the Toronto Sportsmen's Show made a comeback last week after a long absence due to Miller's banning an event that "promoted gun violence". That was a prime example of leftard logic at work.

You know what? I'm beyond caring. A hell of a lot of what Miller did was wrong. That doesn't give Ford a free lunch.

About an hour ago a councilor came on CFRB to say that Thompson said that Ford had grabbed her butt and she was going to go back and try to get him to do it again, so that she could get it on camera and use it against him in the next election. Presumably others heard it, too, so maybe they'll come forward.

This woman has never had any credibility with me, to start with, and her story has been changing all day.

You know what the sad part was? Instead of going to the police or reporting to the organisers, she's there giggling & posing for shots.

I guess if publicity is what she's looking for she's doing everything right

I wonder what his wife & family will think of all these accusations. Must be quite embarrassing facing your wife and daughter after work

Sarah Thomson, unfortunately has zero credibility to back up these accusations. If more women end up coming forward saying that he's done it to them who aren't so ambitiously politically motivated, that might lend her some credibility. Otherwise, this just comes across as a really dirty stunt to try and smear the guys already badly tarnished reputation, even further for her own political gains.

She'll be facing a slander law suit I'm sure. Typically these type of allegations, unfortunately can neither be proved or disproved. Although there was a dozen cameras on them when it happened apparently.
