Bye bye JT….

Looks like it's official. Good partial riddance, now the stalling begins, and what about silent, slick, singh? More stalling.

I hope both the Liberals and NDP get destroyed in the election.
PP better play smart and keep his mouth shut on some stuff so its a guarantee.
He can't keep quiet now.

He has to navigate the expectations of the public in terms of his platform and keep the reigns on his own caucus while doing it.

There is no platform yet. Until at least the end of March, little is different than yesterday. Keep your mouth shut on specifics to avoid the competition pre-emptively employing your strategy to remove it as a positive for you.

So business as usual? 😊

Mike Bilodeau and Ilija watched the whole thing with me while chatting.

Anyone have any idea how many times he said that the party is wonderful, that he wasn't at fault and we're all just going to have to do better? He claimed he reduced taxes (yeah, sure) and they've done wonderful things for the vulnerable and great things for the economy. It's just so insulting.

Well anyway, shots of tequila before noon to celebrate.

Don't forget the environment and indigenous. He has saved us by spending billions with no goal or purpose.

didn't that need royal assent? since the Cons filibustered way back in the fall nothing has been getting done.
Is that not better than allowing the Libs to do things?

PP is in an enviable position, he's best to stick with his simple 3-word slogans. Easy to understand, on point and hard to attack
  • Axe the Tax
  • Build the Homes
  • Fix the Budget
  • Stop the Crime
Die-hard liberals will want to make him squawk so they can spin, counter and attack more effectively. 3 word slogans are hard to spin.

Like with Doug Ford, the public is anxious to get the Libs out. PP hasn't needed to go deep into platform stiff so far, he has less incentive to do it now.

Keep the political powder dry.

I wasn't complaining. Simply explaining the legislation has been dead in the water.
An I wasn't taking a shot.

My a feeble attempt at humor.

I cannot for the life of me see a path where PP doesn’t become PM.

Whether it’s a minority or majority govt is the toss up.

But the throne is his to lose.

Similarly, Bloc is opposition in almost every possible scenario. That's obscene but our laws allow it.
Bloc in opposition is a win imo.

We know they don't care about anyone but Quebec. Makes the rest of their complaints about anything else null imo.

A decent solution would be a liberal leader that doesnt crap the bed and can hold enough seats to give PP a minority govt. Not a landslide, we need more right , but not crazy PP holding all the cards right .

I recall a Federal election when the Liberal Party lost so many seats that they actually lost their official party status.

Yup. That was When Harper's PCs got a majority...
IIRC it was Micheal Ignatieff who was at the helm of the LPC at the time
Of course he just ran back to the 'states after the defeat and we haven't heard from his elitist self since.

There's dual citizen LIEberal MPs that have openly said they will go "home" if they lose their seat.
