Bye bye JT….

That's probably already DoA. Cons will just go right back to blocking everything as soon as parliament sits. Only thing that will get through is the confidence motion.

Cons aren't blocking anything. The mundane ways and means to keep the government running (pay bills, wages, etc.) was pushed through no problem. The (L) speaker froze the House until the sitting government releases the unredacted documents requested re: the green slush fund. All they have to do to get bills and regularly means and ways business done as required is to release them. They won't as it would expose many of them (eg: Randy ver. 2.0.01b) to the likelihood of having to start wearing ugly orange onesies.

Can't enforce something that's not actual legislation. Do they need legislation to make such a change to the program? That is the question.

Short answer: yes. The bureaucrats running the CRA are of a different opinion. Fat Tony wants his money, and he knows how to take it from your bank account.

"Liberal candidates who are possible leadership contenders: Ms. Freeland, Mr. LeBlanc, former housing minister Sean Fraser, Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly, Innovation Minister François-Philippe Champagne, Transport Minister Anita Anand, former central banker Mark Carney and former B.C. premier Christy Clark.

Of all those MPs listed, Frazer isn't running for re-election (as of now) and the only ones projected to win their ridings (338Canada) are Joly and LeBlanc. Freeland is slightly ahead in a toss up. The rest are projected to lose their seats by a significant margin.

They will have to roll it back if it doesn't pass.

Have you ever tried to get money back from the CRA? Multiply that by ∞ if you're on a list with an influx of multiple thousands of other tax(over)payers. Keep in mind, the employees at the CRA are up in arms over the request to have them actually come in to the office more than twice a week. No one there cares if Scuba Steve gets that 16 1/2% he was overcharged on the CG on his (hypothetical) parent's house sale any time soon (or ever).

I recall a Federal election when the Liberal Party lost so many seats that they actually lost their official party status. I am hoping that history will repeat itself and show JT just how much the Canadian people hate him and what he has done to this country.

I don't think he cares......
If he cared, he wouldn't do all the crap that he did during his tenure

Will believe it when I see it.

If resigns, I guess from the comments, this will become some sort of stall tactic, and the gov will be in limbo, doing nothing, until the election?

GG granted request. Prorogue until march 24. They all belong in jail. The GG office should be disbanded as it is a big cost centre with zero benefit at any level to canadian citizens.

He will resign as PM and leader after leadership race.

Earliest possible election is may (unless courts can overturn GG and force them back now).

Looks like it's official. Good partial riddance, now the stalling begins, and what about silent, slick, singh? More stalling.

I hope both the Liberals and NDP get destroyed in the election.
PP better play smart and keep his mouth shut on some stuff so its a guarantee.

Prorogue until March 2025....

Resignation AFTER party selects new leader...

Motherf$@cker....
The GG can refuse a prorogue request, but it's never happened. In 1988 GG Jean accepted Steven Harper's 1988 prorogue request -- it was done to avoid a non-confidence vote. At the time it was highly criticized by scholars, every Liberal politician, and many Canadians. Prorogation used like this was viewed as an undemocratic move that undermined democracy and the role of Parliament. There were plenty of protests, and a national petition calling for an end to prorogation gained significant support -- but GC Jean did it anyway.
