Dammit…went to check out an 2015 821 Dark and while it felt good, sounded good, and looked decent the peeling stickers off the tank (DUCATI logo) and scratches around the tank really put me off.

Also seemed like the bars really didn’t allow for much turning radius as they were hitting the tank.

Search continues.

Sounds like maybe the owner changed the position or installed aftermarket bars.

‘I don’t know’
‘I don’t know’
‘I don’t know’
‘I don’t know’

Those were the answers along with…

‘This is how I bought it’

It’s possible it’s normal the length of travel / turn…but just seemed very lacking in terms of range of movement.

Not what you want to hear when buying a Ducati. Or anything, for that matter.

How warm on the tush are these things?
Not at all. The pipes are far enough out to the sides that the heat doesn't even gather around the small of your back, unlike my KTM 950 Adventure where it was pretty uncomfortable sometimes.

The Speed Triple is a tremendous bike. Fast (enough), great on-road manners/performance, confidence inspiring, relatively comfy and soulful. I've never had so many compliments from strangers than when I rode it. Then there's that glorious noise the triple makes and the ear to ear grin from available power wheelies in the first 3 gears.

Go get it

surprised no ones bought it by now, its been on sale for a while

I imagine its an early enough model that it doesnt have a lot of electronics or nannies either

Can't be any worse than a Ducati with that vertical cylinder and exhaust header right under the seat.
Sure it could. Ever ridden a Triumph Tiger 1200 (2012-2015ish)? I have and the heat at the crotch was horrendous. Adding an underseat exhaust could easily make it worse. The 1200 Ducati Multistrada vtwin I owned had zero heat at the crotch area (some noticeable at the right ankle area but easily solved by dumping the cat). Monster 1200 you feel some heat on the right knee area because of the pipes there.

Bummer, guess I can cross the Tiger off the list of comfortable distance tourers.

All of the 1l Triumphs direct a lot of heat at the rider. I suspect this is desirable in the home market, that heat is appreciated when it's dank and rainy.

Also helps Brits keep their beer warm on the chilly rides home from the market.

You okay with a 33" seat height? Nice bike.
