Best dual sport or something along those lines?

If you are truly stuck at 4k then I am going to suggest that you drive to the massive United States market with a truck looking for a 3k or less one and do the whole RIV importation process.

Good advice but no point taking a truck on your first visit... after you find the bike you want you need to wait at least 48 hours after faxing the paperwork to the border crossing and hoping there is no lien or theft report on the bike. Then once you want to cross the border with it, get ready for another 4 hours of crap!!!

Just by from a dealer and you avoid most of the risk side. Of course you still have to go through the RIV/importation process and for a bike of such low value you'll end up burning up the savings in time, gas, hotels, RIV, misc fees.

I actually bought an RC51 lol as I could not pass up the deal. i got it cheap enough though, so that I can buy a dirtbike as well and works out to be the same as what a DRz Would cost me.

You are worse than a woman.

So what's the budget now?

It was always 4 grand... so for what I have left over i can easily find a decent dirtbike.

So you spend a portion of the $4k on the RC51 but still have a total budget of $4k for both bikes? If so how much is left over?

No I had a $4k budget for a bike... i bought the RC and still have money left over from the original $4k budget to get a decent dirtbike....math is fun!

So how much is left? Until we get you a dirt bike this thread will never die so fess up and let's keep looking....

He has enough budget to buy whatever it is that Canadian Tire sells as a gas powered dirt bike, but I could not give you more details on this because I quickly averted my eyes and ran away.

Also, now he will get to explain at home why he needs more vehicles. "You wouldn't buy just one pair of shoes would you honey?"

Bwahahahaha! That's too funny. Good plan, you'll enjoy the trails more on a light weight bike, and commuting on the rc will be better.
I'd look for a 125/250 2t, just make sure to get an ownership. There are tons of good cheap candidates on kijiji.

you got a drz then you can have the RC! lol. Otherwise you can have it for 4 grand!

Can't believe I wasted the time to read this whole thread and then you buy another street bike.

Having come this far I'll mention that one day in the ganny on borrowed dirtbikes was enough to go out and buy a used DRZ400. I sold a FZ6 to finance the DS. Still have a Goldwing for street and long trips.

I miss the mid sized street bike and might buy another small street bike or maybe get my old 750 SOHC running again.......

Ohh MAN!!!!! SAME HERE!!!! I just got home from vacation, and to be honest, the the fact it is an RC51 is the only reason I will ever cordially address you on this forum again, ajaxguy!!!! hahahahaha..... like man, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!?!? You better come up with some extra cash to buy a half decent dirt bike, because if you don't, Snobike Mike isn't going to know what to do with his spare time anymore. Give the guy something to live for!!! :)

Sounds to me like he explored the possibility of dual-sport. Decided that with commuting to work etc, a dedicated street bike and a dedicated dirt bike works better for him. The time everyone took to answer questions etc, helped him to make this choice, it wasn't like he wasted anyone's time...

CCM 450 GP. It's my new crush.

gp450-2.jpg

I was really liking the new Husky Terra and STrada 650 singles, but couldn't justify their 400+ lb weight when my 100 hp KTM 950 twin weighs the same but has twice the performance.....then when I stumbled onto this CCM, I was immediately smitten.
40 hp, and only 285 lbs......that's 50 lbs less than a Ninja 250!! But it aint cheap.
