Best dual sport or something along those lines?

true.. and for the times i decide to im sure I could handle a day or two. Also, I was reading the pavement tears these ktms up

None of these bikes are gonna be extended highway runners. The RFS motors are pretty stout. I've done a few searches on these because I was thinking about that bike but I decided to go a different route.

As for any used bike its reliability all depends on how well it has been maintained.

That bike also looks like it has a cush drive rear (Easier on tranny) and relatively low mileage. Might be worth checking out. Also you can sign up to KTM talk and see how reliable KTMs really are. Asking a bunch of Japanese bike riders about them will get you nowhere.... Slowly. ;)

Ya good idea... i will research it more until he gets back to me

That 520 might be a bit much power wise, but it's lighter than anything else in this whole thread. It's also got way better brakes, suspension, and grin factor. I could ride that quicker through a trail than any drz. Keep in mind, when people say higher maintainence, it doesn't always mean more repairs. Just that you have to check things over more often. My buddy checks his valves on his ktm 530 3 times a season, afaik they only needed adjustment once.
Honestly, if you want dead reliable, mainly road, stick to a drz or wr(not f) if you want performance with a huge fun factor, go ktm and maintain your bike. You typically change the oil more often on a ktm, as it has a smaller capacity.

^ That RXV would be an awesome deal for $4500 with 2 sets of wheels.

Imay go stateside to pick something up...way more choices from what I have been seeing and alot of goodies usually. If i can get this guy down to 4 this would be what i want.

I'm pretty sure that motor is a race type motor requiring serious motor work around the 70hour mark (I did some research when the bike originally came out and the maintenance intervals were shocking).

YMMV

There are deals to be had in Toronto - you just need to be there at the right time.

Oh for sure.... I have received deals here...but seems like for the supermoto market, there arent many to be had here.

There's a really sweet 08 husky 610 sumo on kijiji Kitchener at $4500 right now. Well worth a look on that. The 610 is know to be reliable and last well. Sorry, kijiji brantford, bike is in Kitchener.

Thats a great looking bike... I know nothing about it though.

Husqvarna 610 sm actually a 580cc, 53 hp, 6 speed, good road manners. Great bike overall. Google it, tons of info/reviews. The 610 and newer 630 are both known as huskies reliable road bikes.

I know getting parts for them was a pain before, but now you can get them from KTM? am i right?

Yes, parts are/will all be available through ktm dealers. Most guys that sold husky before still have stock as well I imagine.

Ktm has no obligation to stock old husky parts and does not intend to from what I have heard. (From current Husaberg/KTM dealer at the bike show) Once they run out of spare parts for the bikes they are gone.

Hoping it isn't true. Will screw a lot of people over if it is that way.
