Best dual sport or something along those lines?

Wow. That will really suck. And the aftermarket was already pretty much non existent. Not a great time to buy Husky then. I had been under the impression that parts would be offered through ktm dealers for a set number of years...

I hope it is just a rumor. A good friend of mine is a husky nut. Has 3 in his garage. He wasn't too impressed when hearing it from the guy.

The only other one I read somewhere last year is they'll carry parts for 10 years. Not so good if your looking in the 2005 range. Either way, I'd hold off on any Husky purchases until there are some real answers.

Definitely sound advice. I wonder how Randy from 2FatGuysGarage is liking this, having just bought 2 te630 relatively recently.

Really OP. Just go get a DRZ and be done with all this. It'll do everything you need.

Everything he owns is the best money could buy. Haven't you read any of his posts? Lol

Nothing wrong with discussing the pros and cons of different machines. Helps kill this long winter.

Fair enough, but this is more like...

I saw that one and he actually reposted it agaim...so he cant sell it which means 3 grand would easily take it... but to be honest I want the SM version.

I am actually looking at a couple really nice ones next week as I am heading to florida for 2 weeks today, so if I can find one in the first week im there , I will send all the paperwork to the border ahead of time and haul it back with me.

Yeah, I have seen that one before, too. It doesn't look like a bad bike... and it is 5 minutes away from me. I could go take a look at it, but after sitting on the WR, I'm not sure I want the DRZ anymore.

Oh you sat on the WR?? I love the looks of that one way better....but scared the power for the street will not be enough, but i do love the looks and high seat height, along with the Fi

yeah, I posted about it a page or two back, after I went to the bike show. The WR is mega high, and the suspension is super bouncy. It feels like you could definitely take some larger jumps on that bike without bottoming it out. The DRZ SM I sat on, it definitely felt like more of a street capable machine. Lower, less travel in the suspension... nice, but like I said, would not be best next to my R6 vs the WR.

Ya I prefer a higher seat height for some reason...makes it look more aggresive too. It would be nice to take them both for a boot to see what feels truly the best. Maybe in florida i can check them both out and test ride them... i will look into that while im there

I found a brand new WR in Indiana for like $5600 the other day, at a dealer... See what you can come up with!

Damn, Tapatalk doesn't have a laughing smilie.

All I can picture is a guy at the bike show bouncing up and down on the pegs saying "I can't wait to hit some sweet jumps on this."

The suspension sucks on both bikes btw. Neither one will jump very well. They are both overweight. The wr just looks nicer.

I sat on the wr as well at the show. I sure as hell wasn't thinking about jumping it. Very top heavy with a mushy suspension. Pretty much like every other bike in the entry level dual sport class.

hahaha, I definitely feel what you are saying on this. I am not talking about taking a 50' double or anything on it, I just meant it felt like you could land from 3-4' feet in the air without breaking the thing.

I can see what you mean by Mushy... I just assumed there was some rebound or load bearing capabilities behind the feeling, in comparison to the DRZ. It felt like it was like 4-6" higher at least. Obviously it was nothing compared to the EXC or anything else... but I can tell already that the two of us come from different worlds in terms of where/what we ride. I don't even have woods near me to ride in, legally... within quite a long drive. That's why I've ruled the EXC out, unfortunately. However, your screen name is Wudzrydr. I have a feeling our definitions of jumps are also pretty different. :)

Lol, I was hoping you wouldn't take that wrong. I've put my drzsm through its paces. Believe me, I know what it can handle.

The wr only looks updated. It's still the same old vanilla that you'd expect in a Japanese dual sport underneath. I don't know why the Europeans are the only ones to figure out that there is a market for high performance dual sports on this continent.

Both bikes have the same seat height as well. The sm models sit about 2" lower than the off road versions do.

So, should I be looking for a DRZ400S, then, or SM?? I always wanted the SM, as well... but, is it as good in the woods?? I might have like 5-10% woods riding, max.. the best I am going to be able to do for the most part, is ride down where rail road tracks have been tore out. Some longer stretches obviously, probably riding smart would be a 70-90kph pace on the long parts. I really don't care what I am riding in terms of looking cool... I just want to pick the best machine, more or less.

I might also use this bike to do a long haul, down to Indianapolis or something, if we decide to ride to the GP this year. No way I'm doing that on the R6.
