Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

How about new and rebranded new Jaguar Barbie full electric car?
It was announced it will cost in the area of 150,000 British Pounds. Any fans on this forum?

Let's just say i'm in no hurry to part with mine yet.

I actually really dig that, minus the pink.

It totally reminds me of the Chevy Volt concept from 2009ish

curious, how do you know this individual doesn't have a legit govt disability tag?

are you suggesting that people with disabilities or handicaps can't own a tesla truck?
No visible disability tag is the same violation as no disability tag. They are guilty one way or the other. Looks like there are also violations for tint and tire poke which requires larger fender flares. All of those violations are present on many ICE brodozers too.

the tag could be on the dash, thats legal, but likely hard to see in this pic

lots of people run stop signs, speed, dont buckle up, and dont always use signals, are they any better then the "criminal" above?

should we post their pictures as well and chastise them? or is this only reserved for Tesla Cyber owners?

I mock lots of brodozers. We don't have a suitable thread here and it would just add more non-motorcycle related posts so I don't bother posting most of the morons on gtam

Tesla fall out of grace thanks to it’s genius owner, so now you only allowed to love it secretly but publicly everyone must trash it LOL
On the other hand soon you can roll on Pink electric Jag like there are no rules even exist :)

There's a special place in hell for perfectly able bodied people who park in spots reserved for legitimately disabled people who need them. Comparing that to speeding and signals et al is hardly a fair comparison.

And for the record, the source of the photo mentioned that there was no disabled permit anywhere to be seen.

of course, it was circulating on the internet and a randoms claim that likely couldn't be verifed make its legit. it must be true!

As always, believe whatever you wish to believe. I'll believe the person who originally took the photo. Lets move along.

Tesla stock tho.
Looking at their valuation almost makes me itchy like some bitcoin ripe for a rug pull.
But what do i know...

My theory is that TSLA is going up because people are speculating that Elon Musk is going to do something self-serving after 20 January; it almost doesn't matter what. Likewise with bitcoin.

I'm not interested in getting involved in that conflict-of-interest mess.

Tesla is still valued based on it being a technology company, except that technology remains vaporware and probably will for the foreseeable future. If you look at it from the perspective of being just another car company it’s stratospherically over valued.

But who know what’ll happen, a lot of things don’t make sense anymore. Personally I think there’s lots of bubbles that are going to burst like 2001 and 2008. There will be a lot of collateral damage that I wouldn’t want to be near.

Or you know, Elon could just pull the levers of government now to give himself unfair and potentially illegal advantages, and probably nobody will be able to do anything about it any more.

This timeline sucks.

When it was at 100 not that long ago I thought about buying but was worried it was headed down to a reasonable price.

Interesting study.

92% of people who already own fully electric car to buy another electric
67% of Tesla owners plan to buy another Tesla (highest in the whole industry)
Only 1% of electric car owners plan to switch back to ICE

So ones you there you there, the problems is to convince to make that shift. I’d say I jump as soon as price make sense.

I suspect if you dug deeper you'd find that there are very few BEV owners that don't also own an ICE. For the vast majority of families with ability to charge at home, one BEV is a great idea. All family vehicles as BEV is still a hurdle for many.

If you look at the numbers for people buy BEV and can't charge at home, they are inverse of your numbers and it is a miserable ownership experience. Most of them are also morons so they do things like only DC charging and then complaining about costing the same as gas.

Can't fix ignorance.

Just today, someone was complaining on the Bolt facebook group that 120V charging couldn't keep up with their driving patterns. Well, duh. 120V charging works for a lot of people, but not if you drive more every day than approximately 6 km x <number of hours it can be plugged in every day>, and not on days when it's -20 C. Time to get a 240V charger. And someone else was complaining that their range was lousy but admitted they had the interior heat on 75 F (24 C?) and the fan on position 5 (out of 8). Dude, you're using all your power on HVAC. You're wearing a winter coat and you still want the car to be a sauna inside?

FWIW in winter I have interior heat at 18 C, fan speed on 3 (just enough to keep windows defogged), heated seats and steering wheel on auto, I'm wearing a coat, so it feels too warm if set any higher. My 240V charger is in the driveway and the car's 120V charger is in the garage. I plug in whichever one the car happens to be near, and let it do its thing.

I think this may have more to do with the charging network than the cars themselves. I was road tripping in the US during the thanksgiving long weekend (busiest travel weekend of the year) and only once had to wait to use a supercharger. The CCS chargers I saw were all always in use with many cars waiting. It must absolutely suck to road trip in a non-Tesla EV on busy weekends. I wouldn't buy a non-Tesla EV now for that reason. But ask me again in a few years after the rest of the charging infrastructure catches up and the superchargers open up to non-Teslas and it'll be a different story.
