Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Yes. They’re refuse to do it a third time, and I’m tired of going back again and again. Not sure what my options are now.
Back to them putting their foot down on the "contract is a contract". If tint is in there and they are unable to fulfill their obligation, they have an issue. A reasonable solution seems to me that they write a cheque to the shop of your choosing and you are stuck with whatever the results are (which should be better than the crap they gave you).

I agree. I lost it on the salesman when he told me he’d accept it the way it is. Told him he’s full of poop and there’s zero chance a reasonable person would think this isn’t is acceptable.

That looks like when you take it to those $150-200 tint places

Does the car have felt inside like VWs?

Could be why they are struggling so bad

Audio Heaven is $250 and I think I’ll take it there. **** this place.

I’ll send an email to the dealer principal later, and if that fails I’ll send a note to OMVIC as these guys aren’t going to budge.

I would give them the car keys back and tell them to either make good on the deal or you'll take your business somewhere else. If they can't be bothered to get it done right then you will (provide a quote from wherever, hell provide 3 quotes if they think you are sticking it to them) and tell them to write you a check. Make sure you're speaking to some level of management who can wrap their head "measure twice cut once". They are now not only out of pocket, they have egg on their face. Time for them to just suck it up and save the deal.

auto sale contracts are pretty ironclad, if it says tint then you`re owed tint.

The hard part is it probably doesn't specify beyond "tint" and a blind monkey installing ebay material may satisfy the contract. Sure you could argue in court that it wasn't to your satisfaction and you may win but you've lost due to the time and expense of taking it that far.

very true. the upside is he can go public with this debacle.

i find that once in awhile you just need to make it through a few clueless fucks who don't give a **** because they have nothing to lose. eventually you find someone with a vested interest and those people won't stand for this absolute waste of time and money.

Emailed the dealer principal, general manager, general sales manager, salesman and used manager this morning.

While I can’t provide proof of 100% functioning, the rear defroster appears to have 2 lines not working. No damage seen during visual inspection before I drove off.

Yup they broke 2 lines. This sucks maybe get omvic involved or at least threaten to make sure you document everything. Tell them you want new back glass now as well as a credit for the tint.

I will wait until Monday, issue another letter, and then go to OMVIC. Not sure what OMVIC will/can do at this stage. But at this stage I’m not sure what other steps there are.

@Evoex theyre currently either laughing at my letter right now, or preparing my WRX. My money is on #1

can you name this awful dealership please
If you look at the first picture he posted of the car, you can probably figure it out. Sadly, he will probably be in a situation shortly where in exchange for giving him what they agreed to, he wont be able to say anything bad about them. The alternative is he either raises a huge stink and pays the bill himself or stays low key and pays the bill himself. Crap deal for mp from every direction.

I’m mad just reading this.

FWIW my experience was that the moment I mentioned having an official OMVIC complaint ready and waiting to file the dealership manager started shooting rainbows and butterflies out of his ass to make things right.

Regarding the rear defrost lines, I had 1 line not working since I bought the car. I finally bought one of those kits at Cdn Tire where you paint the line back in at the broken spot and it worked perfectly. I suspect it may be too much getting a whole new window (and they'll likely mess that up worse) so they may just do the same thing I did.

If not, I've got plenty left in the kit if you wanna pop by NE Brampton some time.

I’m going to prepare a registered mail letter where I’ll state that this is the first step in the process. Letter will go out on Monday with a 5 day limit to respond.

Thanks @LBV ill take you up on that offer next week.

I’d make their life a living hell over this considering how much they’ve screwed up so far.

I’m not usually a litigious or ******* type person, but bargain or act in bad faith and all that goes out the window and my head starts spinning and I start spraying pea soup. I still wouldn’t be the sort who’s gonna stand in the middle of the dealership and start screaming obscenities or anything, but I most certainly would be firing off letters to places like OMVIC and GM and the such, and scheduling “fireside chats” with senior managers as well until an amicable resolution was found.

This is oddly reminiscent of my experience when I bought *my* Volt, and I was part way down that route when the “rainbows and butterflies” thing happened.

The dealership in question wouldn’t happen to have this as part of their logo, would they?
