Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I think it's there in the window
My wife bought a car there several years ago. The dealership said they would have it professionally cleaned since it had some dirt and what looked like dog hair on the inside roof of the car. They took the car on a Friday and said it would be ready the following Monday. When we got the car back, it hadn’t been cleaned, but it had 350km put on it over the weekend!

At first they denied the issue and repeatedly made us feel like we were crazy by not knowing the mileage when we bought the car, but we wouldn’t let it go on a matter of principle. Got them to pull the footage of the car detailing shop where it was stored over the weekend.

Long story short - they finally apologized.
A week later the guy who sold us the car was fired. Turns out he was doing a bunch of things to other customers and this was the breaking point for the GM.

If I was going to buy a GM / Volt, I would buy it from Addison. They have been super great to deal with from sales to service so far since I bought my car.

Good luck MP!

Yes, do share the drama. My blood is still boiling LOL.
It's strange how bad some dealers are at providing what they promised. For my previous car, I bought a white ***, vin # ×××. Signed all the paperwork and left, pickup in two weeks ( at my request). They called me a few days later and said computer error, that vehicle was previously sold to someone else, they could get me a similar one except with a sunroof for $1000 more. Hell no, even money or I'm not interested which they couldnt do. I settled for a black they had in stock, tint and clear bra for free made it acceptable to me. Good resolution to a crap situation. Reasonably painless, I dont hate them. Better for everyone than the ass-hattery MP is experiencing. FWIW, tint looked great and never had an issue. Not sure who they used, they wouldnt tell me.

The place where I bought my Volt from gave me quite a few headaches at first too.

Car had a lightly damaged front bumper. Looked like someone brushed a curb with it. Purchase was with the bumper repaired and new LRR tires installed.

When I went to pick it up the bumper was repaired but with an awful orange-peel finish. Tires weren't LRR and were the wrong speed rating and the oil wasn't changed. Salesman really tried to send me away. "Paint is fine! You just need to let it dry!" "The Oil was changed they just can't reset the Oil monitor!" etc etc

After maybe 3-4 times of going back and forth with the car and them trying to buff the paint, and refusing to change the oil or the tires the salesman finally said "There's no more we can do for you."

I googled around and found the emails of the GM and the owner of the dealer. Sent them an e-mail explaining what happened and within a few days I got a reply asking me to come in for a face to face. The GM met me in person and agreed to reimburse me for the oil change, install the proper tires and get the entire front end repainted properly.

Wow. I would have thought the easiest and cheapest of the three would have been the oil change yet they wouldnt do it and gave you the money back. Wow.

It sucks that places get away with some of this nonsense, but they know that the average consumer won't stand up for themselves. Many people just get flustered or don't realize there's protections in place (IE, OMVIC) to stand up for them, so they just go away instead and the dealerships problems are solved.

A lot of dealerships count on that being the majority, not the minority.

Right?! Like that's a basic selling a used car thing. Gotta change the oil. The fact that they lied about it to my face, even after I layed down and stuck my head under the car and was like "This new oil filter sure has a lot of salt and crud on it in APRIL!"

Maybe they stripped the plug and knew it and didn't want to touch it again as it would have needed a new pan.

After the salesman told me basically to go fly a kite I took it to my local GM dealer to change the oil and do the Onstar hardware recall. No issues changing the oil.

I had a bad experience at Peel Chrysler on Lakeshore. I forgot where I left the review but they asked for my contact info so they could contact me to make it right. I gave them my name and shortly after I got a notice from their lawyers threatening to sue if I didn't take down the negative review.

After reading around and learning that if you don't word things specifically you can totally be sued I took it down and edited it with the story of them threatening me with a lawsuit instead.

Lol. Do share.

I can't find my review on dealerrater but I posted all about it about 6 years ago lol

apparently, after the failed Hyundai/Kia talks (blessing in disguise), apple has their sights on the Magna/LG partnership.

thought most companies would be wise enough to avoid LG chem, but hey, apple....

Still holding out for the Toyota/Tesla electric car. that is something I can see being a true winner. Toyota reliability and build quality married to a Tesla powertrain? I'll take it...

That's Mercedes being Mercedes. The camo on the vehicle that he was driven in, and that he wasn't allowed to drive it, indicates that this isn't quite official yet. The production models will all be black, white, or silver (LOL)

This seems to be a much better effort than the EQC SUV. This is what Mercedes will want S-class buyers to switch to.

In other German EV news (and this one ought to be more accessible to people of normal means) ... Audi's version of the VW ID.4 has made its appearance - the Q4 e-tron: Q4 e-tron Models > e-tron > Audi Canada

I like that one, particularly the Sportback. I technically like the VW ID.4 but I don't particularly care for its styling (inside or out). The Q4 e-tron Sportback, I could see myself driving that.

I agree. Overall it has the Mercedes lines with a lot of the “look at us and our electric vehicle”. Once this goes to market I expect a very luxury Mercedes that I would want to buy. Time will tell

new model from a company with little proven electrics engineering loaded to the gills and that much electronic wizardry.

I'm intrigued, and being a german product, I'd get the double extended warranty.

No smart person buys an S class for the long haul. Either lease it or buy used as a winter beater and scrap it if it needs repairs.
