Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Makes sense - forgot about the Leaf that was more prevalent back then.

Still dealing with the dealership. As the trade was worth more than the Volt they said a cheque will be ready Thursday, now Friday, now Friday afternoon, maybe Monday....FML.
I don’t even want the car anymore but I had to put a deposit down and their line is ‘a contract is a contract and you can’t cancel for any reason now.

****. Just give me my deposit minus your incurred costs to prepare the car and I’m happy.

What changed? Feelings about the car or just ****** at dealership? Does contract include timing? You cant violate by backing out but they can violate by stalling?

I’m just ****** at the dealership with this back and forth on their end of the bargain.

Didnt put in a ‘car needs to be ready by’ date as I didn’t feel it was necessary.

I asked point blank ‘will the cheque be ready with the car on Thursday?’ Answers were ‘yes’ all around. But I didn’t put it in writing.

And I’m sure as **** not taking that car and waiting however long they decide to prepare the cheque after.

I had a similar ****** purchase thing when I bought my 2011....pretty sure I detailed it here about a hundred pages back.

I started making their life difficult and didn't feel bad even a tiny bit bad about it.

This is where social media really comes into it's own. They do not want their name being dragged through the mud. I'd call the principal this afternoon to determine if the %$## comes from above or whether it's at the employee level.

Honestly even if it costs me $500 I’d be willing to walk away simply out of frustration.

Just buyers remorse at this point or solely being ****** at the dealership?

I had serious buyers remorse on our new camper for about a week. I know we paid too much. I questioned if we really even needed the f'n thing for the amount of camping we're apt to do this summer. But like all big purchases, that passed...and I'm pretty cool with things now. It seems to happen to me with any big ticket purchase.

Anyhow, I found the post with my dogs breakfast dealership story. Page 94, post 1963:

This was after having a similarly crappy situation with our original 2012 where it took something like 4 visits over 5 days for them to finally get the damn car charged properly for us.

Some dealerships suck, and some just have crappy salespeople who only want the $ but don't really seem to actually grasp what they're selling.

Is there a delivery date on the bill of sale? There should be the date when you signed the contract and also a separate delivery date on there. Check the terms and conditions (might be on the backside) regarding delivery times.

Don't let it bother you @mimico_polak

The Volt's an awesome car and you'll be laughing all the way to the bank with it. A few extra days of waiting isn't affecting you in any way from what I can tell, other than some frustration?? Think of the few hundred $ a month you'll save - that's spending $ elsewhere if you want it.

True there’s no cooling off period for vehicle contracts but that doesn’t mean they don’t have to hold up their end. Did you already take possession?

Could be that only Suzy at corporate knows how to process the deal with a cheque back to the customer...and Suzy quit last week...so they’re scrambling .

Or the Big Boss with cheque signing authority took a couple of days off to go away and the minions weren’t told .

Or...COVID

Don’t get too stressed over it...you’ll end up making yourself sick.

Now if it was a bike and you wanted to ride this weekend...that’s worthy of a rant .

Just got a message they squeezed the cheque through. So picking it up today at 5pm.
will see how it goes after that.

yes a part of me will miss the WRX after chirping the tires yesterday, but I’m looking forward to now having $70 fill ups. The usage of this car will be such I probably won’t see a gas station in a month.

You're younger than me but hopefully at some point in life you'll be able to have the "toy car" to go with the "sensible daily" ... at least you've got another bike from what I thought I saw so there's the fun toy for now.

The Volt can chirp it's tires as well pretty easily, just FWIW. Well, from a stop at least. ;)

Got the car, got the cheque, gave them **** for the horrible tint job. Uneven cuts, bubbling all around and had to rewrite the contract that they’re replacing it next week.

Plates are GVAT so a late adopter.

Looks good.

Let me guess, instead of farming out the tint job to a place that would do it perfectly in literally an hour or two, they tried to do it in-house?

As for the GVAT plate, not that bad, I've seen GVB's on the road already. I have GVAX and I got that plate over 3 years ago now. That GVAT must have been sitting on a dusty shelf somewhere for a while, actually.

You're a nicer person then me. I would have refused to take possession until it was corrected and that cheque was in my sweaty palm.

Ya thinking back I should’ve told them to eff off. I do have the cheque though. Already deposited it on the way home.

@PrivatePilot you are right...plate is from previous Volt.
