Dude can't get himself employed he's gotta roll with the punches
Fine and dandy except when getting hired at the company I work for is a bit of a big deal not only from a money standpoint, but especially a benefits, pension, and most importantly, work life balance standpoint when compared to the rest of the industry.
And I've seen us go 3-5+ years without hiring again.
It's like seeing a winning 6/49 ticket with your name on it in the office window, but you're not allowed to cash it, because contract, penalties, yadda yadda.
As someone who spent a few years as a perma-temp at a company 25 years ago, a company that shirked a lot of responsibilities and avoided a lot of "hassles" (ie basic legal responsibilities and decency) of being a direct employer by just employing literally every single person who worked there through a litany of different driver services at the time (when there was a lot more of them out there than there is now), and got screwed a few times because of it over those years, I have no love lost for these rent a driver agencies.
