Try being a teacher! I must've received something like 10 boxes this year...chocolates, candles, coffee mugs and gift cards galore...hubby would eat the whole stash if I didn't hand them out to family...

As I mentioned in another thread, we don't buy presents for each other...however, we did buy a trailer a month ago and are slowly getting stuff for it as well as planning our adventures for next summer...
I'll have to call them then...I only do about 50 km/week and that's during the school year...we use hubby's truck on weekends and during the summer...thanks for that!
We don't buy gifts for each other as we generally buy what we want throughout the year...we do have fun opening up the many gifts I get from my students though...
And I can add that 3/4 of my ex's family was on welfare and had no intentions or finishing high school and/or getting a job...started with their mom and ended with both sisters...no incentive to get off of it unfortunately...the two sisters also had boyfriends who did work live with them, but of...
LOL...brings back old memories for sure...I basically planned my first wedding (1993) from the inside of a pool hall...the ex and I (and our group of 20 or so) would hang out until the wee hours of the morning on weekends...heck, we even had our own cue sticks! :)

Because the one month program in the original post is a 'tasting' to get high schoolers interested in the trades...it's not a full blown course from what I can tell...the trades are suffering and this is one way of getting kids interested in them...
