your reason for picking the bike you are riding now...

That alone wouldn't narrow down your options to one bike!

One? Not so fast..
theres...

Honda - CBR?
BMW cup special
Triumph sprint GT (pre 2011 model)
Yamaha do a model too

650 V-Strom. Its ugly, but it goes where ever I want it to with no fuse or trouble. Only issue I have had with it was a stripped valve cover bolt which was helicoiled.

Wrote off my ZZR when the front wheel locked so bought a 600 with ABS.

02 Ducati 900s

No logical reason whatsoever. It's not comfortable, it's not the fastest. I always wanted one, and I freakin' love it.

I wanted something for long trips and long days of riding, something with options for hard bags as well as just being a pack mule. Also wanted the more upright seating position and a nice tall bike. Shaft drive was important as well, I am just not interested in maintaining a chain, lube, adjustments and all that. That and shaft drives are so smooth. Also wanted a large gas tank, I hate stopping on trips, I like to move move move. My GS is the best bike I have ever ridden and the only thing I would trade it in for would be a GSA.

Rode it at a demo day, fell in love with it.

Took me 6 months to find one at the right price that I liked.

Cheaper insurance...

I was tired of bending over and getting ___ up the arss with insurance on the 600 so I got the 125 :)

Bandit 1250. Nice riding position for a middle aged guy. Versatility, I can tour on it or pull the luggage off and be a bit of a hooligan. Value, a lot of bike for under 10K. Wonderful freight train like torque from low rpm.

SV650... Because I've read everywhere that it's a perfect beginners bike. WRONG. I'm "mechanically inclined" and have known how to drive stick shift since I was 11, and I've read about how to ride bikes for years and I knew all the controls like the back of my hand before getting on the SV. I got it 3 days ago (first bike) and I'm starting to get comfortable with it, but.... How in the hell are you going to tell me that someone who doesn't have a clue how a bike works or what to expect can get on an SV650 and learn to ride? I definitely would not recommend this as a first bike to a beginner...

Oh and Hi I'm new here. Been trolling for a bit.

Got my klr650 because I always wanted a dual sport, and I was bored to death and honestly felt unsafe riding my cbr125.

I've got an SV650s. Got it because of the reliable and practical V2 engine. cheaper insurance than sports or SS but more than enough to keep up with them. I also love naked bikes :)

I was due for something new, after 10 years, and wanted something different and lighter. Smaller displacement was also good, to try and slow myself down. Whatever I got was only going to be a starting point, anyway, for making what I wanted; a lighter sport-tourer with good suspension, and hard luggage (now with shock, fork rebuild, and windscreen).

A weekend bike course?
There is a difference between knowing the path, and walking the path.

I didn't want a cruiser...nor a sportbike...not crazy for the look of a dual sport...what's left?
Streetfighter/naked...Just what I was lookin for...around towner with a cruiser sound and sportbike speed...with awesome torque.
Plus everbody hates Buells...even Harley dudes and especially the sportbikers...that was even more appealing about the bike. Funny how so many hate but when they see it...they freakin drool all over it.

I don't hate any bike, I quite appreciate most of them. I promise to never drool on your bike.
