Will I outgrow a 300cc too soon?

I was thinking the exact same thing! Oh, by the way - you got a piston HOW big? Can I see it? Email me a pic of it covered with oil please!!!

Original piston is insitu. Can email reasonable facsimile covered in lubricant. Please advise.

I didn't bother reading this entire thread.

... if you have to ask the answer is clear.

... its a yes. :)

You're a brave man and I salute you. Do you own guns? May be time to invest.

It's a curse no doubt.

I cringe ever time I think about the stuff I did at that age. And who ever's daughter I was with.

Exactly. My 300 could do highway speeds but it just wasn't comfortable at those speeds and had very little passing power, so I upgraded.

seriously?? I find that kinda hard to believe, I'm 5'11, 185ish geared up and have no problems passing anything moving at under 150 km/h on a 250 and top out in the 165-170 range. Yea, you can't just slingshot yourself and jet away but I don't see how that equates to comfort. My most recent commute has been Miss-Markham on the 401 and I'm usually the fastest thing moving other than the occasional guy who really wants to hit HTA 172 territory.

Hell, if that's not convincing enough I rode the 250 to New Jersey back in September and from Miss to PA was all highway. No...I didn't get blown off the road at any point or feel like I was going to die. On x-mas eve I did a 750 km ride with Shanekinglsey and that was windy as **** on the way back. Even he was getting blown around on a Vstrom, either way we still maintained a solid 120-140 and at no point was I lagging behind, if he's around he can vouch for that himself.

Point is...if you don't get good at getting around in a cessna jumping up to jet won't just make things comfy, it can actually be a lot more disastrous.

Why must you abuse Ninjette like this?

She is not built to withstand such heavy flogging. You are completely ruining her for the next guy that might want to straddling her down the road. She may never idle the same again. You need to find a bigger framed version of Ninjette that was built for such long days in the saddle.

Poor poor Ninjette :(

She's actually much tougher than you think. Lone Ronin bought that ninja ages ago, it has around 100000km on it, all of them ridden just like that.

some want that, to be treated poorly and ridden hard, ignored a bit maybe. If you don't give them want they crave the next custodian may be a guy that lives in a park, not a park with scenery , it will be called a park because that's well, where he parks. And he decorates with antlers.
You'll see her again around town, tear in the seat maybe and black dust on her rims, leaking a bit of fluid. You moved on with your new ride all your friends named buffy, because that's all you do with her. You don't know what you had.

I am humbled to be in the presense of your excellence. I have forsaken my Gods to bask in your wisdom. Enlighten me oh great one! Show me the way to superior rightousness! I come to you grovelling on my knees, in the dirt, like the blind bastardy peasant I am. Guide me from the folly and shadows in which I walk. You are the light!!!

Sounds like he's taking about a significant other.

Silence! Remember what happened the last time I walked among you. You must remain silent Decimus! I will not entertain your insolence any longer.

Wow this thread has gone to ****...I literally burst out laughing in class after reading this Shakespearean mumbo jumbo :lmao:

It's just a simple matter of experience, practice, and a willingness to learn. :D

I really like that analogy for reasons I suspect are fairly obvious.

Every jet jockey out there, be them an airline pilot or a military F-15 guy, started on some little single engine piston powered fixed wing aircraft. Almost all the time, Cessnas, indeed.

Only after gaining a whole lot of experience, and more importantly the relevant certifications, do they get anywhere near a turbine high performance aircraft.

In in the motorcycle world there seems to a be a lot of people who want to skip that whole learning curve BS and skip right to the F15. Nothing ever goes wrong.
